25.01.2022 Are you over on LinkedIn? How’s it going for you? I know lots of people have a real aversion to LinkedIn but I love it. ... It’s great for my biz, much better than Instagram in truth. And I enjoy the content I see. You?

20.01.2022 Thanks for popping by my page! I’m guessing you may be one of the many overwhelmed and confused business owners who don’t know where to start with marketing. I know exactly how you feel. ... When I started my business I was an employed marketer, used to starting conversations around products and services - for other people. I had a team, a big brand name, budget and resources to support me. Plus a great team with lots of energy to bounce ideas around with. All of a sudden I was on my own. I was it. And no budget (that hurt). I was the service. I was the product. Yikes! Having to do pricing, sales, accounts, forecasts, marketing, write content, work with clients, send invoices, build a list, get a website, post on social, etc etc was exhausting. I was so paralysed with OMG I am in over my head. That guess what. I did nothing to promote my business. Even though I knew better. Which meant I was at the mercy of when people I knew had someone to refer me. You see it was so hard to let go of the fear (and TBH it still lurks there) of what will people think? Can I put an offer out there? What if it doesn’t work? What if I fail and have to get a ‘real job’. But that was mindset was never going to help me grow. So this year I let go of having to do all the things. I simply focused on smaller steps that would set up a good foundation for my business to grow. I sought support from people going through the same thing and I started outsourcing some of the things to free my head space to do more of what I love - which is creating marketing plans and content. Sharing my story so you know you’re not alone, that even the experts feel overwhelmed when they are starting out. So stick around, follow my page and I’ll share tips and hints anyone can do. Beck x

15.01.2022 Happy Birthday to me! Another year around the sun. And a year I’m not likely to forget. Our worlds got smaller as we hunkered down in our own little bubbles. ... Plans went out the window. We laughed. We cried. We zoomed (oh how I loathe zoom). We talked about loo paper (what the??). Drunk too much wine. Binge watched Netflix. Hung out with family. Navigated friends and family being in hospital during a pandemic. Learnt I’m highly productive when operating out of fear but it’s not a good place to be. And as an extrovert/introvert I struggled not seeing people as I used to. But I feel more part of my community than ever. Closer with the clients I support. I talk more with my neighbours. Hang out with local business friends (hi BayTalk). And support local shops more than ever before. I’ve always loved where I live but this year was extra special. I didn’t learn any new skills or flex my creativeness that much, I was busy in survival mode. And some may say, a necessary reset. What’s truly important? Who knows what this year will bring. But I do know, it’s up to me to keep my spirits high and do more of the things I love. So here’s to more this year. What do you want more of?

15.01.2022 Ah Monday’s. You’ve got to love them.

14.01.2022 Yee-ha, it’s Friday. It still feels like holidays, even though there’s work to do. Anyone else feel the same? Or are holiday vibes a thing of the past?... Today I’m working on a webinar outline, putting finishing touches on a cyber security outline and doing some behind the scenes work on a brand project. Then; I’m off for a swim and a cocktail or two! Can’t wait.

12.01.2022 Oh no. The S word. STRATEGY Why is it so triggering?... I hear people say they’ve never had a strategy and I call bullshit. Whether it’s written down or in your head it’s still the bones of a strategy. You’ve made a decision to do something (strategy) and worked out what you need to do to make it happen (tactics). A strategy doesn’t have to be a 5 or 10 year plan. It starts with a goal in mind then taking intentional action to make it happen. When you plan a holiday you look at a map. There’s less risk of you getting lost and whether you take the straight path or the windy one, you’re going to get there in the end. Do you want to move your biz from A to B?

04.01.2022 I’d like to think I’m spontaneous and adventurous but actually, I truly thrive when I have a routine. But that routine needs to have enough flexibility or play time built in so my mind doesn’t think it’s trapped! I really enjoyed my break this year (and god knows I needed it).... Lazy days were the norm and not much got done. But now I’m back into work guess what’s getting done. All the chores I’d planned to do while not working! Go figure?? Guess that old cliche Give a busy person something to do and it will get done rungs true! How about you? Do you need a routine to do your best or do you work better without one?
