17.01.2022 Its true. I work a lot. I dont slow down much. I rarely sit still. Even my workouts are normally go, go, go! ... So, while I am at home for at least the next six weeks, I am using my time to not only work (a lot), but slow down a little. So tonight, after work was done. I did a class with the amazing Ayami @holayoga_au while I watched the sun go down. It was all stretchy and flexy and breathy (might have made that word up) and an amazing way to slow the mind and the body for an hour. 14.01.2022 Anyone else looking to build their business this year and contemplating if they should show a little more of themselves in their marketing efforts? The answer is yes!!! People love to see your face and get to know YOU, especially in a smaller business. It is a great way for your potential customers to get to know who they will be dealing with when they phone you or catch up for that coffee. ... Who hasn't stalked the business account of a potential business partner before chatting?!? (That's normal right??? ). PS I am in desperate need of some great pics (as you can see) so I will be getting the camera fully focused on me again soon,... even though I don't like pics of myself either hahah. #thingsyoudo Go on, post that selfie, use that self timer and get going!

14.01.2022 For when someone says "oh yeah but you are just working from home". No I do not have time for a coffee break No (Emma, my youngest darling daughter, I love you but...) I don't have time for one of your long winded stories. No I can not take the day off and catch up. (I like sleep!).... The perfect addition to my new office.

14.01.2022 This time last year we were getting ready to go drink Cocktails by the pool for a week in Palm Cove. We had the most amazing time and I would have absolutely repeated that holiday a million times over since then if I could. This year put a bit of a spanner in the works getting back to sunny poolside cocktails, but until we can jet set again... I will work my butt off (mainly to get ready for that bar tab $$$ ). ... Got to look at the positives, when we get there again, it is going to be LARGE! #poolsidegoals

11.01.2022 I honestly don't know why legitimate people try this tactic it bores me . If your follower numbers are dropping a little, don't worry too much. If those followers are not engaging with you and being part of your community, you are better off without them. Big believer in legitimate followers only here! .... 11.01.2022 This right here is what I want to hear from my clients. "Alicia is professional and easy to work with, she worked closely alongside the web developers in the setup of our new website. Alicia was very thorough in explaining everything that was available to us and also very patient with as we are not very experienced with the website program, any queries we had Alicia was always quick to respond and happy to help". With a good idea of what they wanted, but no idea how to do i...t, I managed the project for NSCLC from start to finish by creating content and working closely with the developers to ensure a good result for them, without them needing to get involved in the all the finer details (that generally do my clients heads in ). 10.01.2022 Hellooo new office space! I officially moved into my new office space last week (keep an eye on my stories for a few pics). After working around the fam in my lounge room for the past two years, I was loosing my sh*t even though they were all very understanding... just family noise right? (you get it!). ... A small reno later, my little portable office/ studio is ready to go. Cheers to a full day in my little studio.

Week to week I have my regular clients that keep me well and truly entertained and then I have some other projects that just seem to appear... sometimes out of nowhere. ... No week is ever the same .... thankfully! (same, same is boring!).

10.01.2022 KISS. Keep It Simple Stupid. Seriously, sometimes you gotta start small. You can want to run the world, but if you don't have the basics right yet... don't get too excited. Sometimes doing the most simple things with setting yourself up for marketing your business can get you far, so take the time, think, discuss and then action. ... And by all means, I love a BIG goal so go for it!

09.01.2022 Woooahh, last week through one of my clients I was contacted about participating in a blog (on behalf of my client) for someone who I have been wanting to work with for a long time now, so of course I was like 'ill answer anything you want me to my queen!' It's a few days later and this morning the blog went live, with my writing right there front and center with minimal editing (basically just my side notes removed), yay! Here I was answering questions as though they would be re-written by her; but nope, up they went. Had I known that was going to happen I would have proof read what I sent one million + one times (instead of just a measly million). My name may not be on it, but I'll take the silent wins .

Ok, so seriously you probably knew, but didn't expect it to be so hectic keeping on top of everything? Hands up, what do you outsource, or what do you would love to outsource. ... For me, I don't need to yet, but hands down I would outsource my bookkeeping! Snooze fest zzzzzz. Let's be honest, share away... its not always easy! (And don't worry if you say marketing, I promise I won't be spamming you, you know where to find me if the time comes lol ).

07.01.2022 There comes a time, when you just have to outsource the things you don't have time for. For me, its laundry. I now quit laundry. Just kidding.... I just hate sending bills and asking to be paid, although it is #essential for things like living lol. I haven't yet outsourced it, but I did get an online book keeping thing (technical term) and so far its saving me heaps of time! But one day, its gone I swear, it still does my head in. People...outsource what you hate or find a solution and move on. I spent so much time procrastinating about it I probably could have spent that time better! Ugh. #lessonlearnt

07.01.2022 Wow. I have been absolutely reaching my limits time wise lately. My nine to five gig has recently returned to full time after a cut in hours during COVID, but I have officially made the decision to NOT go back to full time at the moment. I have made the choice to focus more on my business at this time and so relieved my nine - five gig were supportive of me doing that right now. ... PS I am still officially busy AF, but happy! I have a full list of amazing clients I love working with each week and let's face it... Melbourne is in lock down, so I it's the perfect time to stay home and work, work, work.

07.01.2022 Did you start your marketing with a strategy in mind, or just get started? To be honest for me, I just got going, but that is what I do and I am marketing me here, so that makes it a bit easier. You may have noticed I don't really do any hard sell, or 'call me' for a quote, visit my website CTA posts because that's just not me. But... I ALWAYS suggest if marketing is not your thing, you should absolutely put pen to paper and nut out a bit of a plan. What tone of voice wil...l you use? How will you get people to visit your website or give you a call? What type of content will you post to get some interest and get your business happening? If anything you will be left with a plan to pull you back to reality when you get writers block or you are too tired to come up with next weeks posts. (Trust me, it happens lol). Don't be afraid to reach out and outsource, (no one can be fabulous at everything), you do your thing, and let someone else help you with their thing.

07.01.2022 Want to grow your profile, get more work, sell more product, or get more support? Stay in touch. You don't have to do the hard sell, but if you don't make the effort to stay in touch with your followers and support them, how can you expect them to do the same for you?

Some clients are pivoting to new things during this time, some working on strategies for when things re-open. I am constantly making notes. Phone notes, post it notes, writing on my kids foreheads (just kidding ). ... If your business is in a bit of lockdown and your brain is firing on all cylinders, write it down and get ready to take action! We will all be back and #supportinglocal real soon.

I have to say Im feeling a bit weird about it. A bit sad for everyone missing work completely with shut downs etc and sad for some businesses that may not make it through this time. ... Remember to do what you can for local and smaller businesses during this time. If you can, purchase gift vouchers or products online to be delivered or used when they can. I know we cant be together but If you know of someone doing it tough, do what you can for them, (without breaking the rules of course ). 03.01.2022 Stick with what you know best...outsource the rest. A few tips on outsourcing... Find someone who 'gets you' AND your business. ... Look for someone who is totally honest and not just racking up those hours $$$. Work to a fixed budget that suits you and be upfront about your budget (It really helps ensure you are getting the most 'bang for your buck' by making the most of your allocated funds). Agency or freelancer... find someone you feel comfortable with and give it a go, then start planning what you will do with your new found free time!

03.01.2022 I love learning new skills - I am a total nerd! At the moment, I am not only working on my photography skills, I am trying to master video editing and up my skills in photoshop. So frustrating! ... I am absolutely never going to tell anyone I am a professional in those areas, but sometimes you have to do things on a budget and so, I learn to DIY for my clients and myself. Lucky for me for sometimes pics and videos that aren't over edited can work, so don't be scared to give it a go for your business yourself. Sometimes though we all need to call in the professionals.... (don't worry, I have contacts) .
