23.01.2022 Shhh... I've got a secret. I've been less than my best since covid and my routine and fitness have suffered as a result. I've lost some fitness and gained some unwanted fat! Even though I train 4x + a week, it hasn't been focused and the nutrition hasn't been supportive enough. Time to make a change! I'm embarking on a new nutrition regime that takes the best of two well known programs and puts them together for unbelievable results. It's about creating new habits and making them stick, and using simple methods to idiot-proof my food choices. I'm in the mood to make it happen and nothing's getting in my way. If you aren't satisfied either I'll let you in on my new plan. It could be the game changer you're after! https://procoach.app/markymarkspt

22.01.2022 10 Reasons Why Good Sleep Is Important A good night’s sleep is incredibly important for your health. In fact, it’s just as important as eating healthy and exercising.... Here are 10 reasons why good sleep is important. 1. Poor sleep is linked to higher body weight Short sleep duration is associated with an increased risk of weight gain and obesity in both children and adults. 2. Good sleepers tend to eat fewer calories Poor sleep affects hormones that regulate appetite. Those who get adequate sleep tend to eat fewer calories than those who don’t. 3. Good sleep can improve concentration and productivity Sleep is important for various aspects of brain function. 4. Good sleep can maximize athletic performance Sleep has been shown to enhance athletic performance. 5. Sleeping less than 78 hours per night is linked to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. 6. Sleep deprivation can cause prediabetes in healthy adults in as little as 6 days. Many studies show a strong link between short sleep duration and type 2 diabetes. 7. Poor sleep is linked to depression Mental health issues, such as depression, are strongly linked to poor sleep quality and sleeping disorders. 8. Sleep improves your immune function Even a small loss of sleep has been shown to impair immune function. Getting at least 8 hours of sleep can improve your immune function and help fight the common cold. 9. Poor sleep is linked to increased inflammation Sleep can have a major effect on inflammation in your body. Sleep affects your body’s inflammatory responses. Poor sleep is linked to inflammatory bowel diseases and can increase your risk of disease recurrence. 10. Sleep affects emotions and social interactions Sleep loss reduces your ability to interact socially. Sleep deprivation may reduce your social skills and ability to recognize people’s emotional expressions. The bottom line Along with nutrition and exercise, good sleep is one of the pillars of health. You simply cannot achieve optimal health without taking care of your sleep.

18.01.2022 Spread protein intake throughout the day. "I often notice men trying to eat large amounts of protein at once when trying to gain lean mass, but rather than extra scoops of protein powder post workout and 12 ounces of poultry at a meal, aim to include more energy from carbs and split protein intake up so that it’s delivered more regularly to the blood stream and muscles, allowing for more continuous recovery," says Jones. #BoneDensity #Recovery #MS

17.01.2022 The challenge of early morning training and what it taught me. I used to sleep in until I absolutely had to get up and go to work, the alarm would ring multiple times and Id rush to get myself a quick cuppa and out the door foggy eyed into the car to work. I thought highly of people who could get up early and get a workout in and wished the same for myself one day. I never realized the benefits were immediate and life changing once I begun.... Time management became a priority. I organized myself the night before. Lunch (healthy) was packed and clothes sorted. I started preparing and getting on top of my life. I felt accomplished just getting to the workout, so the effort was only part of the process to becoming a better person. And shock horror, I continued. And now its a vital part of my everyday routine. It sets the tone for my day. And if you can overcome the hard work of a morning bootcamp or wod the rest of the day is a dream. Quote: Eat a live frog first thing in the morning, itll be the worst thing you do all day. Brian Tracy.

17.01.2022 What Is the Best Way to Lose Fat? The simple (and complicated) answer is that there is no best way to lose fat. Most people are after a specific diet or exercise to get rid of excess fat from different areas of the body. The truth is that you will lose fat when you continuously get less energy than you use. No matter what you eat and when. And people tend to forget that all exercising burns calories. Of course, HIIT may burn more than walking, but you should always aim for exercises that you like because you are better to maintain things that you make you feel good. Fat never burns locally. It will always disappear first there where it first came no matter how hard you do sit-ups. But doing resistance training will increase muscle mass, and it forces fat to divide into the broader surface area. That makes you look more fit.

01.01.2022 MYTH OR FACT Eating red meat can speed up the aging process. ... . . FACT! Unprocessed organic red meat does NOT appear to accelerate the biological aging process but studies show processed conventional (grain fed, factory-farmed) red meat DOES. This might be because conventional meat contains phosphates that improve its tenderness, flavor and shelf life. Having too much phosphate in your blood is linked with a higher risk of heart disease, weak bones, kidney disease, and a shorter lifespan. That being said, many researchers believe the shorter lifespan isn’t only because of the meat consumption, but other lifestyle factors. Plant-based foods contain numerous micronutrients and antioxidants that can protect against disease. The takeaway: If you eat red meat, if at all possible make sure it’s certified organic and also make sure you eat your vegetables!
