25.01.2022 MST 3rd week of the term..is KICK WEEK. Have fun everyone.

24.01.2022 MESSAGE FROM COACH Caitlyn Richardson This weekend, there is a carnival out at SOPAC called the Sydney Open (13th to the 16th of May)! I thought this would be a good opportunity for the younger swimmers to watch some of the big names swim before Olympic Trials coming up in June! Names such as Cate and Bronte Campbell, Mitch Larkin, Kyle Chalmers and Emma McKeon will be there! Kids under the age of 17 are free entry and tickets are $7 for those older. Heats will start at 6pm and finals will start at 9am! Just thought I’d let everyone know so they can choose to attend and watch!

24.01.2022 From 1st June Tuesday and Thursday AM mini’s and competitive squad will commence dryland 5:30-6am then swim 6-7amFrom 1st June Tuesday and Thursday AM mini’s and competitive squad will commence dryland 5:30-6am then swim 6-7am

23.01.2022 Kids wetsuits... this is a good company... but you can use old wetsuit as long as it is not too thick... we don't want to mess with the swimmers buoyancy. https://toasteeswetsuits.com.au/site/main-v2/

20.01.2022 2021 Term 1 Timetable... JUSTINE'S HOT TIPS 1. Monday and Wednesday are our CRAZY afternoons....Tuesday and Thursday no so much. 2. The 5pm classes have a better swimmer to coach ratio... 4pm is "bonkers"... 3. Swim more than 1 session per week of you want to... **reach those swimming or surf goals... **enjoy the training when you see the improvement over a shorter period of time **learn the skills and retain the body/ motor pattern knowledge necessary for long term good technique **fitness will not improve 2 as much but more like 10-20 times **make more friends **summer afternoons at the pool are FUN 4. The squad sessions over Term 1 concentrate on what you need to race well at your school, zone, regional or state carnivals but the BEST way to prepare is to join Engadine Swimming Club and race on Friday afternoons... see the ESC facebook page. 5. Morning training sessions are the best... start your day with PE/Maths/Social Science/ Chem & Bio/ English & my favourite...religion....before you even get to school! See more

07.01.2022 Here is a great idea for those who are hoping to keep their kids swimming through Winter. The pool is still 26 degrees all year round but there are some that just cant seem to get their head around the cold water...not like the old days. The best suits are sleeveless wetsuits with about 2mm rubber, just enough to keep warm but not enough to impact on the swimmers buoyancy or stroke mechanics.

07.01.2022 Squads and LTS cancelled for today due to storms, hail and lightening.. sorry all customers that swim today will be credited.

06.01.2022 ATTENTION swimmers and families of Maroney Swim Team!!! Did you know.... Ben, one of MST coaches is a Physio at a local business called Physio Inq. He is committed to getting you or your swimmers back in the pool ASAP! Sometimes sitting on the sideline isnt the only option. ... So, if you have an injury or an old niggle and need some help.. then go and see him that way he can get you transitioning specially from clinic to pool. And for an extra bonus, you get $35 off an initial consultation. When you book in let the reception staff know that you are from MST and would like to accept the initial consult discount! https://www.engadinephysiopilates.com.au/online-booking

06.01.2022 Squad and Learn to swim lessons will continue this week. If there is any change you will be notified via email and sms. This is a good chance to practice your colder weather procedures in preparation for Autumn.....swimming is an all season activity...we DO NOT during Autumn and Winter.

05.01.2022 All Leisure Centre Squads will be operational. We will endeavour to maintain a physical distance by having swimmers training at opposite ends of the pool, with only 6 kids per lane (3 at each end) if we have too many we will utilise the program pool. Swimmers will swim 10-20 seconds apart and there will be no dry land and limited use of the equipment. We completely understand in this current climate people will not be wanting to continue training and we support this choice as well. I am waiting to hear from Council about what happens with payment. Be safe and take care. Justine
