25.01.2022 With all the wind and rain in the last two days, a massive tree came down over a driveway in Buderim. It took our crews a good couple of hours to clear a path for the owners vehicle.

25.01.2022 This week members from the North Coast Region completed a Polaris ATV Side by Side Course, including Maroochydore SES members Tom Markwell and Col Hjortshoj. This increases our operational capabililty as the Polaris extends our reach beyond the range of 4WD vehicles. For example it can be used in landsearch operations for casualty rescue. Well done guys and congratulations to Dean Vink on now being an authorised trainer for this course.

21.01.2022 Congratulations to our Deputy Group Leader Graeme Dean for receiving the State Emergency Service "Life Member Award" yesterday. This award is given for "Strong, outstanding individual commitment and special contribution to the State Emergency Service" . With 33 years service to the SES, the knowledge and experience Graeme brings to our group makes him an invaluable member. Thank you Graeme!

19.01.2022 Sunshine Coast SES teams had a busy week, some members were deployed down south and many teams out and about around the Sunshine Coast. With more rain and storms predicted this coming week, remember to be prepared and if its flooded forget it.

19.01.2022 On Friday members from Maroochydore and Caloundra SES assisted the ADF in a reconnaissance of the Caloundra area to identify possible risks, areas where operations can be deployed and possible access sites where ADF can use its equipment in case of a forest fire.

Late last year 2 new Deputy Group Leaders were appointed, they join our Group Leader Ray Trinder and Deputy Group Leader Graeme Dean. This much needed equipment will allow the group to be better equipped and prepared for this storm season. Our sincere thanks to the DCDSS for their kind support.

13.01.2022 Due to the current status of the Coronavirus COVID-19 all training including Tuesday nights and courses at Maroochydore SES will be suspended until further notice. For any new members wanting to join SES please watch this page for future updates. In the event of an emergency SES will still be operational, please call 132 500 for assistance. Please follow Government advice and protect yourself and those around you by cleaning your hands regularly, covering a sneeze or cough with your elbow, avoid touching your face and self isolate if needed.

11.01.2022 This week Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk, Minister for Fire and Emergency Services Craig Crawford, Deputy Commissioner Mark Roche, Assistant Commissioner Gary McCormack and Sunshine Coast Regional Council Mayor Mark Jamieson visited Maroochydore SES for the offical handover of the new storm damage trailers. The new trailers will assist Maroochydore, Maleny and Caloundra SES Groups in their storm response capability.

10.01.2022 Donna Lazzaro, Jamie Tims, and Michael Bleeker check out the new CPR Manikins and Defibrillator trainers obtained through a Grant from the Buderim Foundation. Valued at over $2500.00, the First Aid Training equipment allows our group to receive regular training in CPR, which is a key qualification for SES members. Maroochydore SES sincerely thanks the Buderim Foundation for their kind and much appreciated support.

10.01.2022 Well done to our new members that have completed Participate in a Rescue Operation and Map and Navigation courses over the last couple of weeks. Thank you for your commitment to learning the skills required to be an active member in the State Emergency Service.

Commissioner Greg Leach presented members from the Northcoast Region with their Medals ranging from 10 to 30 years of service. 03.01.2022 At Maroochydore SES last night we held our first training in months, 48 members turned up all keeping to the social distancing rule. Great to be back!

03.01.2022 Maroochydore SES would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Easter. This year may be very different from how we normally celebrate Easter. If we stay home and follow the rules that the Government has set down, hopefully we will get through this a lot quicker. Remember we are in this together, check on neighbours, keep in contact with friends and family and assist those in need where you are able. 02.01.2022 Well done to our members that completed the Landsearch course over the weekend. The members finished the course by doing a rural search through Mooloolah River National Park . Fortunately the weather was great and no snakes were encountered!
