25.01.2022 What is a good age to get married? What do you think? I was asked this question the other day and it really got me thinking...... I am a strong believe that we all have our own journeys and our own time for moments to arrive. So what might be right for one person may not be right for another. Plus let's be perfectly honest, you really have to find the perfect person who compliments you and we don't all find that person at the same age and place. If we did you would have everyone lining up at bunnings to be paired on a Saturday while collecting their sausage and bread LOL <3 So to those that have found 'their one' and those who are still yet to find them - get married when you and your partner are ready regardless of AGE <3 On a side note: The law in Australia states that you must be over the age of 18 yrs or if you are 16 or 17 with court approval. (The Marriage Act 1961 - https://www.legislation.gov.au/Details/C2016C00938)

25.01.2022 Who is doing their own vows in addition to the legal requirement? Are you struggling with your vows? There are so many great resources out there (like this one), but if you want that personal touch make sure to ask me how I can help. Helping my couples capture all you want to say is something I love to do.... #marriagecelebrant #weddings2018 #ceremony

24.01.2022 Would you try your wedding dress on for the first time on your wedding day? How about your shoes? NO WAY! You test those babies out! You make sure they fit, that you get the extra support/ padding that you may need, wear your shoes in and know the accessories you've pick match! So on the day your not running to the shops for last minute things or stressing into a bridezilla! Planning, planning planning is KEY! So why not treat your ceremony the same. It's the BIGGEST and arguably the MOST important part of your day. So to succeed and get it right a wedding rehearsal is a must.

21.01.2022 The Secret for a Happy Relationship or Marriage is this...

20.01.2022 What a truly beautiful day for a wedding!!

20.01.2022 Have you visited my new website? http://celebrantlaura.wixsite.com/lauracallaghan

18.01.2022 Well 2020 (MMXX) is here and Happy New Year all! This year is going to be busy with many Marriage Celebrants booked out or just about there. Weddings dates like 02/02/2020, 20/02/2020 or 10/10/2020 have been booked out for months, if not years by, some very eager and excited couples. If you believe in the good luck and power that numbers can bring the 2020 is the year to Marry!... Did you know (according to google) that the number 20 denotes one who has infinite potential when it comes to relationships or diplomacy. According to Angel Cards (Joanna Sacred) Angel Number 20 is a blend of the energies and attributes; giving you guidance and energy that enables you to live your life with love, harmony, compassion and balance. According to the Chinese Calendar 2020 is the year of new beginnings. With the Zodiac Sign being the Dog, which is a fiercely loyal and faithful companion. And with 13 full moons, 2 supermoons and a blue moon in 2020, there are so many positive omens to marry this year! Or if youre not into the superstition of numbers I would wholeheartedly recommend checking out this article about some ridiculous funny predictions for 2020 https://bestlifeonline.com/2020-predictions/ My personal favourite has to be number 1. Anywho as I digress, let me get back to all you loved up and engaged people! As you may know I offer Bespoke Ceremonies for couples. I have decided from 2020 onwards that I will be only offering only a handful of ceremonies each year and with only booking 1 wedding per day it means that my availability is very limited. But equally it has meant that I have the luxury of time to really get to really know the people I am officiating for. I can find out what they want for their day and spend my time writing, crafting and creating their perfect ceremony. It opens my time to give my couples much more. So, if you are still on the fence or not quite sure if you: a) Want to get married in 2020 or; b) Want me to be your celebrant. Dont wait too long, this year is special for a reason and my availability is VERY limited so, reach out and contact me. Id love to meet in person over coffee or a hot chocolate (or iced) and see how I can make your day everything you dreamed. Happy New Year! #2020celebrant #MarriageCelebrant #LauraCallaghanMarriageCelebrant #BespokeCeremonies

13.01.2022 Ohhh I just have to share these amazing photos from Charlotte Gaspar Photography. This is the wedding of a truly beautiful couple, Sharie and Drew, who were married on diary farm. And although it was raining and the ceremony had to be moved from undercover, they had the most amazing wedding. Sharie and I went to school together and it was so wonderful to be apart of her special day and see her marry her wonderful husband Drew. I am not going to lie I did have to hold back some happy tears during their ceremony as they said their vows to each other, they were so touching. A huge Congratulations Sharie and Drew on becoming Mr and Mrs!!!

12.01.2022 ** Wedding Confetti ** Throwing confetti on your wedding day can be a fun and gorgeous tradition that lets all of your guests celebrate with you as you leave your ceremony as a married couple for the first time. Bio-degradable paper options, bubbles, sparklers and ribbon wands are all popular alternatives for couples wanting to have that celebration with their guests still, however theyre still artificially made. So if youre not afraid of the mess and are looking at having... a more natural substitute to confetti options at your weddings, here are a few ideas. > Lavender > Different types of herbs > Leaves > Fresh or dried rose petals > Babys breath > Feathers > Bird seed https://www.easyweddings.com.au/a/natural-wedding-confetti/

12.01.2022 With a lot happening in the world at the moment; these messages are such a great little idea to share with your guests. Where you have decided to postpone, change a few details or going ahead, let them know in this simple way <3.

10.01.2022 Put on your dancing shoes We’re easing restrictions around dancing at weddings under Queensland’s new roadmap. Now wedding-goers can kick up their heels in t...rue celebratory style, we’re looking for an upturn in business and, in this industry, that means more jobs, especially for our hospitality workers who have been doing it tough. From 1am November 1, up to 40 people can dance at weddings with a COVID Safe Plan. And it doesn’t end there. From 1am December 1, restrictions will ease again allowing everyone to dance at weddings. Importantly, if you’re unwell, stay home and get tested. #covid19au

08.01.2022 Today marks my 12th year as a Marriage Celebrant!! I still remember the day I found out I was a Approved. I had been waiting months to hear from the Attorney Generals Department (after completing my course and apply) and for some strange reason I thought I would check out the list of all registered celebrant online (I had a friend getting married and I need to find back up in case I wasn't to be authorised in time). Well I started to search celebrants near me and guess what. .... . My name appeared I was approved and I didn't even know it! So excited I had to wait for the letter in the mail but my journey as a registered celebrant had began. Have you ever found out something by luck or accident? xoxo Laura

05.01.2022 The Triangle Theory Have you heard about this theory of what to book first for your wedding? The Triangle Theory is the idea that to book one vendor will impact the booking of another. The theory recommends preferential booking based on wants when it comes to three particular vendors. Every couple have a list of musts when it comes to their big day (people included, location, dress, food) but before you get into all the planning of the day there are three important things y...ou need to lock down first: Celebrant, Venue and Photographer. These three will be the most sort after personal preference vendors that you will book so, it's always best to lock these 3 in around the same time. Your first priority might be the venue which would then influence the date of your wedding and there for which celebrant and photographer you choose. If your celebrant is your first priority then you can work with venues and a photographer who are avaliable on your wedding day. And the same goes for the photographer being a priority. The Triangle Theory of booking helps you plan and book based on your wants for your day. Is this how you booked? My husband and I did and maybe if we did we wouldn't have been so stressed lol xoxo Laura

02.01.2022 Ring Exchange Wording "With this ring, I thee wed, is how most standard ring exchange wording begins; however some couples seek something unique. Here are a few my couples have shared over the years. I give you this ring... as a reminder that I will love, honor, and cherish you, In all times, In all places, And in all ways, forever. With this ring, I marry you and bind my life to yours. It is a symbol of my eternal love, My everlasting friendship, And the promise of all my tomorrows. --- You have for each other a ring. This most precious of metals symbolizes that love is the most precious element in your life together. The ring has no beginning and no ending, which symbolizes that the love between you will never cease. You place these rings upon each others fingers as a visible sign of the vows which, this day, have made you husband and wife/ partners. Wedding rings are made precious by our wearing them. Your rings say that even in your uniqueness you have chosen to be bound together. Let these rings also be a sign that love has substance as well as soul, a present as well as a past, and that, despite its occasional sorrows, love is a circle of happiness, wonder, and delight. May these rings remind you always of the vows you have taken here today. --- I promise to love, respect and honor you I will always be there for you, with you, beside you Let this ring be a symbol of our love, may it represent our today, our tomorrows, our future & our past. As I have given you my hands to hold, so I give you my life to keep. --- This ring is my precious gift to you, as a sign that from this day forward you shall be surrounded and encircled by my love. --- Are you adding some special words to your ring exchange? If you are, I would love to hear then. Xoxo Laura

01.01.2022 Aren't these photos amazing! The beautiful Nikki from Nikki H Photography captured Carley and Nick day perfectly! <3 I adored everything about their day from their beautiful location to the small details! In front of their closest family and friends these two tied the knot in the most beautiful ceremony. So heart felt and full of love (and a few laughs). Guest who couldn't make it where remembered and those that were there, were very much taken on a journey of how these two came to be - it was just perfect! A huge congratulations to the newlyweds, Mr & Mrs McHugh!!!
