14.01.2022 We went down to the lab at USQ Ipswich today to do some more preparation for Sherrilyn's Masters research project, and it is all coming together nicely. We will be starting some pilot testing in the next few weeks and are on track to start testing participants towards the end of next month. This research is a collaboration between MARTEL and USQ and involves an investigation into the physiological mechanisms behind the generation of force in trained wushu practitioners. 02.01.2022 Congratulations to our research scientist and assessor Sherrilyn Walters who has been accepted into her Masters of Science (Research) in Sports and Exercise with the University of Southern Queensland. Sherrilyn's research topic is an "Investigation into intra-abdominal pressure and neuromuscular activation of pelvic and abdominal musculature in traditional martial arts practitioners". This research will be carried out in collaboration with the Martial Arts Research and Testing Laboratory (MARTEL) and will involve the use of testing procedures developed by MARTEL. We are looking forward to keeping you updated on this research as it progresses over the next 18 months.
