23.01.2022 I was nominated by Roslyn Nolen to show my art for 5 days to celebrate female artists Day 3 This is the largest painting I've done, 1.5 x 1.3. It was a commission and I ended up doing another one very similar, same size, as another commission. Today I nominate Myra Staffa to show her art for 5 days

22.01.2022 Come and have chat about my favourite subject, painting using texture

21.01.2022 This 1.5mtr x 1.35mtr painting is called "Ningaloo Dreaming". I've gained so much inspiration from the Exmouth area and crave to go back each year for my fix. Moulding paste and collage of natural silk fibres have been used to achieve my end result. This will be on show at the Stirling Open Art Studios this Sunday 9th and 16th Feb, 10-4 each day. If you would like a brochure about this event please message me your email and I will send one. Hope to see you.

20.01.2022 I was nominated by Roslyn Nolen to show my art for 5 days to celebrate Female artists. Day 5 I have been very influenced and inspired by the Ningaloo Reef and this is one of the paintings I have done from those inspirations I nominate Gail Leidich to show her art for 5 days

19.01.2022 Had an exciting but exhausting day Sunday making my own paper. There was alot of experimentation. I wasn't striving for perfection just textures. These are some of the outcomes already applied to canvas just unveiled after having lots of pressure on it all night. Looking forward to applying paint.

19.01.2022 This is one of the paintings Maryann will have on display, our spectacular Cape Leveque, so structured but so fragile.

17.01.2022 I'm thinking this is getting very close to a trip to the framers!! With the storms around at the moment this painting takes me back or forward to summer. Bring it on...

17.01.2022 Have just finished these two small paintings, 300mls x 300mls, for Juniper Galley's Xmas exhibition to open on 29th Nov. I've called them Top End 1 & 2. They are inspired from a very exciting flight I had over the Mitchell Plateau to the ocean in our far north.

17.01.2022 It's been a time of reflection for me lately, basically reflecting on older paintings, what I can do to improve them or do I paint over them. This is one that was saved by just a small adjustment, I'm much happier with it now and it's found it's way out of my studio again. A little bit of Trigg.

15.01.2022 It's take 2, after last weekends lockdown I'm going to be painting up at Juniper Galleries on Sunday 2nd May from 11-3pm. It's the exhibition, Northern Views and Ocean Hues, last day. It's an exhibition of mine and Richard Aitken's works that I feel very proud of and the gallery shows them off beautifully. This gallery used to be Robert Juniper's studio and I will be using the ladder he used as an easel to paint. Hope some of his talent rubs off on me!!

14.01.2022 I was nominated by Roslyn Nolen to show my artfor 5 days to celebrate female artists Day 4 This actually one painting. I have an intense interest in windows, especially in Europe. So many stories they could tell. Today I nominate Annie Rawle to show her work

11.01.2022 Hi everyone, well I had the best intentions of painting at my exhibition at Juniper Galleries tomorrow but unfortunately due to covid the gallery is closed and everything called off but maybe if lockdown finishes I maybe up there next weekend which is the last weekend..... who knows but one thing I know is these 3 paintings will be going to new homes. Thankyou so much to those that have come to see the exhibition.

09.01.2022 I was nominated by Roslyn Nolen to show my art for 5 days to celebrate female artists Day 2 This painting is of a very good friend, it was never for sale, sometimes artists do something just because they want to and who could resist painting that face. Today I nominate Lucy Papalia to show her art for 5 days.

09.01.2022 Hi everyone, I am doing a demonstration on "collage and texture on canvas" on the 15th August, 9am-12pm at Henderson Environmental Centre in North Beach. You'll have the opportunity to question me at length and I will be sharing my techniques I have developed over many years. Morning tea is included. Cost is $50

09.01.2022 A big thanks to everyone who came my home studio over the Stirling Open Art Studios, it is a real buzz to be able to talk for 6 hours on my favourite subject ART. So much positive feed back and people taking measurements of this painting. I will be opening again later in the year on my own but if anyone would like to come and have another look I am open by appointment.

09.01.2022 Meet Sladjana, she is a complete quadripledgic who I worked with at Lady Lawley Cottage for 4 years doing art with her. LLC is a fabulous place in Cottesloe where kids with profound diabilities can go for care. Sometimes it's short time other times it's the only home some kids know. This building was left by Lady Lawley for the care of such children. As an outsider I saw a huge difference in the dymanics when I went back 4 years later to help Sladjana prepare for her own exhi...bition before she turned 18 and left. From being very children orientated it appeared to be extremely top heavy with admin. The Red Cross had well and truly stepped in and it seemed to have changed dramatically and now there is considerable doubt about their intentions for the whole building, remembering this building was left for the care of children of WA, any alterations and equipment have been done with grants from the WA govt., donations and raising money. I was part of 2 art exhibitions there to help raise money for them, so the Red Cross hasn't had to contribute just take! If you would like more information please go to Save Lady Lawley on FB. They are working very hard to get some answers and save the buildings for what they are meant to be. See more

07.01.2022 What a wonderful day for the first Sunday of the Stirling Open Art Studios, lots of people and lots of chat about a subject I love, art. This painting is going to a new home, and you still have next Sunday16th to get around and meet and talk to the different artist's in their own enviroments. Thanks soooo much to those who did come yesterday, what a buzz.

06.01.2022 I had a lovely morning on Saturday talking about a subject I love. Artist's do love to talk after spending a lot of solo time in their studios..... Anyway I endeavoured to demonstrate my methods using collage and texture on canvas to a great lot of people and hopefully they took away some ideas and inspiration.

06.01.2022 Hi everyone, hope you're all staying well and safe in these strange times. It's taken a while for me to settle to painting but yesterday I had a wonderful time and finished this triptych. It is 180cms x 60cms and was inspired by our fabulous low tides around November. I remember taking this photo so well, I was meeting some friends for coffee one morning and parked the car just above Mettam's Beach and WOW this view and I only had my phone but the photos where enough to give me a start and inspiration to put onto canvas. Enjoy

06.01.2022 This painting is heading for the framers, how lucky am I to have something like this just down the street, such inspiration even when it's stormy but this day was just perfectly still with an incrediably low tide. This will be showing in the Stirling Open Art Studios on the 9th and 16th Feb. If anyone needs more information please send me a message with your email address and I'll send a brochure

06.01.2022 This is an older painting that I had taken back into the studio for a relook and I have really worked on it to a point it's back out on the wall. Wish I had a photo of the original to show how it's changed. Still the same name. Marine Impressions. Inspired like many of my paintings from up north where there is so much evidence of marine life in the rocks. Wish rocks could talk!!

04.01.2022 Very very excited. Drones are the BEST thing. My son took me out to Sugarloaf Rock and Eagle Bay on the weekend to see what kind of inspiration we could conjure up and WOW it went far beyond my expectations. I've always been drawn to an areial aspect when painting. I've been asked to do an exhibition at Juniper Gallery next April and now the enthusiasm and inspirations are really flowing plus 21 stretched canvases waiting for paint...

03.01.2022 I would like to pay tribute to beautiful Pippa Beard who lost her long fight with Mitochondrial Disease this week. I first started painting with Pippa 4 or 5 years ago and at that time had never heard of the disease. We called it painting for fun and fun we had. Over the years Pip became more debilitated so last year we changed to just to pouring paint so Pip could do it herself without me having to guide her hand and the fun we had watching "paint dry". During our time toget...her Pippa had an exhibition of her works and sold them by silent auction raising over $2,000 for the Mitochondrial Foundation. She was such an inspiration in so many ways, I so miss the way her whole face would light up when she smiled. Behind Pippa in everyway were her family and I feel so very priveleged to have been part of their lives and feel I am a better person for knowing Pippa and her family. Rest in peace now beautful girl. See more

02.01.2022 Thanks to everyone who came to the opening by Myra Staffa of Richard Aitken and myself's exhibition "Northern Views and Ocean Hues"yesterday. It ended up a lovely afternoon considering cyclone weather warnings. This exhibition will continue for the next 3 weekends and I will be up there on Sunday 25th April painting so come and have a chat. Juniper Galleries 41a Dalry Rd Darlington

02.01.2022 I've been nominated by Roslyn Nolen to show my art for 5 days to celebrate female artists Day 1 This is an early painting of mine that was in an exhibition at the Gallows Gallery. Today I nominate Stephanie Boyle to show her work for 5 days

02.01.2022 If you missed last Sunday we're all on deck to talk and show you where we work. Hope to see you Sunday16th Feb. 10-4pm, it's the last day!

01.01.2022 I have been teaching Lily for over a year now and watched as she has begun to gain confidence using paint, she has aways been talented drawing but had never used paint. I have her using a limited palette so she is learning mixing colour as she goes. If you would like to follow Lily's artistic journey her link is facebook.com/Lilly-Art-101845161572147. She is only 16 and just been accepted to Tafe so it's exciting times for her
