25.01.2022 From beautiful weddings on Mt Buller with the snow gently falling outside the warm Alpine Chapel to those celebrated amongst the vines of a Yarra Valley vineyard, or in the paddocks of a beautiful high country property overlooking the rolling hills and local rivers I believe I am so fortunate to work as a civil marriage celebrant and claim these as my "office" :-) And this is not even including me meeting and working with beautiful people who acknowledge the precious gift of their love and who are excited about sharing this with family and friends - I am both thrilled and grateful to work in Bonnie Doon, Mansfield and surrounds, supported by a very professional array of wedding suppliers. Bring on Spring, the season to sing of your love!

25.01.2022 Isn't it wonderful to have this respite from the intense heat of last week! I'm so grateful. Last night I received the following request from Amanda & Bev with whom I had the privilege of working together to create a wonderful send off for their beloved Mother, Marion at Eltham. Each of us believed Marion would have been so happy with the ceremony we created to celebrate her gentle life dedicated to providing safety, warmth and stability to her own mother and daughters. They'...ve asked me to post this on their behalf: Dearest Mary Anne, Amanda and I are not on Facebook so are unable to put the following on your Facebook page. Would you please be able put this on your Facebook page on our behalf. "Dearest Mary Anne, How fortunate were we that you came in to Amanda's shop so many years ago and that she was able to call you for help - out of the blue - following the death of our mother Marion. You were a lifeline to us at a time when we literally had no idea what we were doing or needed to do. Amanda called you the day after our Mums death which was New Years Eve and you made the time to meet with us on the same day with very little notice. You were so caring but at the same time gently guided us through processes that needed to be undertaken. You immediately linked us with the most perfect venue for Mums service ( thanks John) as well as the Funeral Directors that helped with all the necessary funeral arrangements. Mary Anne we will never forget your support and care during the most difficult week and a half of our lives. Your suggestions for Mum's service including; the memory card you prepared, the idea of the memory table, words of gratitude and the honour guard were excellent. You kept us focused on what we needed to do in a gentle comforting manner. You were only ever a phone call away and responded immediately if we needed help never making us feel uncomfortable. How do we ever thank you for the most wonderful Celebration of our Mum's life. We were blessed to have you deliver the service and honoured that you presented our eulogy so beautifully. So many of the people who came said it was the most beautiful service they had ever attended, they especially loved the memory table and made comment about how professional you were but at the same time commented on the genuine care you showed both of us. Once again thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you did for us and for helping us organise a service that we can look back on with pride. Bev and Amanda Ryan"

24.01.2022 Hello again, how did you survive the chilly weekend? We had a sparkling surprise yesterday with snow dancing on the hills above Mitchell Bay near Peppin Point at Bonnie Doon. Driving into Mansfield we saw Tolmie's hills also dressed in white.

21.01.2022 Warm sunshine was the backdrop last weekend as I joined a very excited couple celebrating their marriage with close family and friends at Black Cockatoo Restaurant in Mt Buller Chalet. Congratulations and warmest wishes to the newly weds who celebrated 'on top of the world'. Thanks too to Dad John for his chauffeur service from the new Mirimbah Riverside Carpark for both the rehearsal and Marriage ceremony. The ducks at the carpark were most entertaining. However, I didn't notice their little 'calling cards' until I went to pack my travelling shoes !!!

20.01.2022 Hi everyone, back in touch again following some time out in response to a family medical issue. In that intervening time we enjoyed a visit from our Indonesian friend and played at being tourists for a few days in Melbourne. That was fun! I enjoyed the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants' national conference hosted this year in Melbourne and came away renewed and energised, looking forward to working with all the Couples in my Wedding Diary with the rush starting in Oc...tober and running through to May next year. Meeting up with many of the Couples and listening to their plans for their Marriage Ceremony is an absolute joy - I so love being a Marriage Celebrant. 18.01.2022 Hello, it's good to touch base with you once again, following a special time out while family kept a beside vigil for a beloved parent. While it was a difficult time, it was precious too in that it gave us time to come together, to reflect on life lived and love shared, and to finally say 'goodbye and thank you'. We celebrated his life yesterday with family & friends and work & bowls colleagues, in a ceremony he wrote, choosing the prayers, readings and hymns and assigning r...oles to each generation of the family. It was beautiful and a fitting farewell. This experience certainly reinforced my belief how important it is that life is celebrated in all its diversity- life, love and loss,-surrounded by those people with whom we live our days and support us with their presence, their understanding, actions and their words. 16.01.2022 Hello again it's great to be back in touch with my Facebook page after a bit of a hiatus for activities including a home renovation - ongoing affair, and loving the results so far - and a brief break in Bali where we soaked up the sun and the warmth of the Balinese followed by a few days R&R at home. Now I'm back into the thick of things and gearing up for the 2015-2016 season of weddings in the High Country and further afield in the North East. Soooo excited about the upcomi...ng #MansfieldWeddingFair on September 19th where you can meet with the Mansfield based vendors in one spot on one day to discuss your plans for your marriage. What a great way to catch up with all these people in an atmosphere of fun and music, with competitions, drinks and canapes to support the highly acclaimed, professional, local wedding operators! To top if off there are some amazing prizes to be won and specials on offer for those who come along seeking inspiration or information. Can't help reflecting on what an amazingly beautiful part of the world we have in Mansfield and surrounding districts. Just three recent wedding venues spring to mind: #Mansfield Botanic Park - (that's Mansfield Vic), #Howqua Valley Views in Howqua naturally, and #Boxtree Estate in Merrijig Wonderful spots with 'pocket nooks' in an undulating garden setting or breathtaking views ov...erlooking towering mountains or gentle streams. So good to be invited to work with the now married couples as they prepared to celebrate their marriage with family and friends caressed by nature. Mansfield should be very proud of such a dedicated professional Wedding suppliers working in and around Mansfield to make each wedding the special occasion it deserves to be! Congratulations and thanks to our fabulous organising team - it truly was a stunning venture and so well patronised. Thank you for your vision and hard work so creatively expressed!!

06.01.2022 What an wonderful week with Wednesday's celebration of democracy and a resounding endorsement by Australians supporting same-sex couples who will soon have the legal right to marry. As a civil marriage celebrant I welcome the change, the warm embrace of the Australian people of our LGBTIQ members, giving them an assurance that the majority of the nation supports their decision to marry. Well done, Australia- well done on voting yes for respect, inclusivity and love. A fantastic outcome.

05.01.2022 A warm welcome to my page from the very cold, yet still beautiful Bonnie Doon. It's great watching Lake Eildon rising slowly- we've now reached the 50% mark. Yay! Had the joy of celebrating a marriage with Richard Pennington in the Mt Buller Alpine Chapel on Monday. Picture us looking at the snow gleaming in the sunshine from the warmth of the chapel. Congratulations to the mystery couple who have not yet told family and friends that they've tied the knot! Fabulous support ...and thoughtful gestures from Mt Buller identities made it a day to remember for the happy couple. Just loved those wedding bells pealing out across the snow clad slopes of Mt Buller. This day marked the beginning of this wedding season. I'm really excited with another ceremony this coming Saturday and then the following weeks will hear those wedding bells ringing out for many couples - see you all very soon for your special day.
