14.01.2022 A big day - close to 7 hours of rowing today on the second day of the 2021 Rowing Camp. Such potential for so many students only after 1 1/2 days on the water. Special thanks to Mr Hogan, Mrs Pommeranz and Mrs MacFie and Mr Done for running the camp as well as Gav, Lee and Jim from the Wide Bay Rowing Club for their logistics and techn...ical support of our school. 14.01.2022 Our final morning of the rowing camp has seen a dramatic improvement in many of our new rowers and a further development of our more experienced rowers. We will spend the next week or two organising schedules (which may have to move to FIVE DAYS A WEEK due to the numbers of students). A lot of work has seen confidence and times which will be quite competitive in upcoming regattas in May - June, as well as the Central Queensland titles, Head of the Brisbane and our ‘home’ ev...ent, the Hyne Bridge to Bridge. A special thanks to the generosity of Wide Bay Rowing and Bundaberg Rowing Club for hire of the Bucca Rowing Facility for the three days.

13.01.2022 Why celebrate Queensland Mental Health Week? Mental health is important for every single one of us, yet it is a part of life that is often overlooked. Busy lives get in the way of us caring for our mental health, as does a fear of feeling vulnerable should we reveal our mental health challenges. With the changes to people’s daily life caused by COVID-19, it’s even more important than ever that we take the time to raise awareness of mental health in 2020, encourage people to t...ake care of themselves, and celebrate wellbeing and recovery in our community. At Maryborough State High School, we have an experienced team of professionals who can help and support our students through life trauma and hurdles. From 2021, our Support Staff will all be easily accessible in our new Student Enrichment precinct, currently under construction. #valueddevelopedempowered #mentalhealthweek2020

01.01.2022 At the beginning of the 2020 NRL season, Riley Cook and Mr Blyth had an agreement that whoever’s team finished lower on the competition ladder had to wear the other persons team colours for a day. The NQ Cowboys may have finished 14th, but we all know where the Brisbane Broncos ended up. Good on you Riley for being such a great sport and following through on your agreement. Hopefully next year is better for the Queensland teams.... #nrl2020 #simplythebest
