24.01.2022 Haha! Yes that's exactly how I felt as a kid seeing any of my teachers outside school (except I was also very fascinated with instruments ) And now as a teacher it's always so amusing to see my students' reaction when they see me in the park or at the shops...like... "What on earth are you doing here!!!" Kids probably imagine that their teachers live with the sole role of teaching and the probably never leave the teaching rooms to do everyday errands or living!!! So cute

24.01.2022 Hello everyone! Welcome back to Sunday Hymns @ Home! Today's Hymn request is "Guide me O, Thou Great Jehovah" This triumphant Hymn, encourages us to come to our great Redeemer and Jehovah to lead us and guide us all our journey through for he is our "strong Deliverer, Strength and Shield!" ... Please let us know your hymn requests for the coming weeks. LYRICS 1 Guide me, O my great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but you are mighty; hold me with your powerful hand. Bread of heaven, bread of heaven, feed me now and evermore, feed me now and evermore. 2 Open now the crystal fountain, where the healing waters flow. Let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer, ever be my strength and shield, ever be my strength and shield. 3 When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside. Death of death, and hell's Destruction, land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs of praises, songs of praises I will ever sing to you, I will ever sing to you

24.01.2022 "A painter paints pictures on a canvas, but musicians paint their pictures on silence" - Leopold Stokwoski This photo was taken for a photo shoot I did for my uni, UQ, in 2018. I really miss playing that beautiful Steinway piano!

24.01.2022 "The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example." Benjamin Disraeli Lest we forget

24.01.2022 Happy Monday everyone! Final week of term 3 is finally here! I'm having lots of fun and special moments with my students wrapping up the term and giving them all extra activities and pieces for the 2- week break. I am looking forward to this short (but much needed) break to refresh, relax and catch up on program and lesson plans for term 4 (one of my favourite terms... because... it's the Christmas term!!! Yay!!!) I am especially looking forward to arranging some Christmas Carols for my beginner students and creating Christmas music games What are your plans for the schol break?

20.01.2022 I am super happy with the latest addition to my tech equipment! A multifunctional desktop/pianotop camera frame. ...and yes Matilda Koala is super cute here! (Scroll to the last two photos to see what I was using for before...just a tripod on the floor infront of the piano keys = super clumpsy to play or demonstrate during on-line lessons and recording tutorials and it could only show 2-3 octaves at one time) I'm not sure how I put up with this set up till now!! Bu...t I was searching for options and I wasn't keen on getting a long floor mic stand to mount up my webcam higher and behind me, but would still need to move it around between in-person and online students. So this was exactly what I was looking for (till now I couldn't find a good one sturdy one for this purpose ...I was not going to risk experimenting with a flimsy one to have it topple over the keys and ruin my baby!) NO WAY!! But thanks to @topmusic.co for reviewing this stand from Amazon. I went for it and it arrived in a few days...which is a miracle these days! And here we go I can sit Infront of my piano (not sideways) teaching with no obstacle infront of me and show my students almost 5-6 octaves at once! Go to Amazon and get this if its something you need! It's sturdy, multifunctional and inexpensive! Thank you again Tim for directing to great recourses!

20.01.2022 I don't do a donut treat very often but since I've made it to the end of week 9 of term 3, it's probably a good reason to have a bit of a treat!! One more week of teaching to go for Qld term 3, who can believe it! Have a great weekend everyone

20.01.2022 In 2016 I brought back this beautiful diary from my trip to the US (Georgia). I've been waiting to come up with the right use for this special diary and I've found it! I just started this dairy for the sole purpose of my journey in the art of piano and ensemble arranging Do you have a music dairy? I recommend starting one! It's really special.

19.01.2022 No matter how far I've traveled or how many places I've visited, I always consider Cleveland Point Lighthouse Cafe and Restaurant as one of my favorite spots in the world! I just had a really relaxing and refreshing day. What's not to love! Beautiful Spring weather Dressing up for a special outing with my family, Fresh air, The bay, fish and chips, strawberry lemonade ice cream...etc. We just reached the half way mark of the final school term in QLD. So things are really full on busy and hectic atm, especially as we approach Christmas! Ilt's really important to schedule off a Saturday to just relax and refuel during a very busy season!

19.01.2022 Happy Sunday Everyone! Welcome back to Sunday Hymns @ Home. Today's Hymn request is "I Need Thee Every Hour" Be blessed as you sing this wonderful hymn! ... 12.01.2022 Hello Everyone! Welcome back to Sunday Hymns @ Home! This is the first Sunday of Spring (or Autumn for the north hemisphere!) It's been a very interesting Sunday here in Brisbane. We started with a lovely sunny and morning to have it shift to a cloudy and very windy afternoon and finally to a slightly chilly and very rainy evening ... We're so happy to share with you another hymn from CityAlight that has been another favourite of ours this year. I especially love the words of the chorus! "Jesus! Only Jesus! Help me trust you more and more! " May that be our prayer this week because as the hymn from last week says, I need Thee Every Hour! Please sing along with us and be blessed this week. (this was actually recorded a few weeks ago when we were on break from studies and work...looking forward to a few more weeks when we're free to record together again...please let us know your hymn requests) LYRICS Verse 1 I will trust my saviour Jesus, When my darkest doubts befall Trust Him when to simply trust Him Seems the hardest thing of all Verse 2 I will trust my saviour Jesus Trust Him when my strength is small For I know the shield of Jesus, Is the safest place of all Chorus Jesus, only Jesus Help me trust you more and more Jesus, only Jesus May my heart be ever yours Verse 3 I will trust my saviour Jesus He has said His way is best And I know the path He’s chosen Leads to everlasting rest Chorus Jesus, only Jesus Help me trust you more and more Jesus, only Jesus May my heart be ever yours Chorus Jesus, only Jesus Help me trust you more and more Jesus, only Jesus May my heart be ever yours Bridge X2 Oh on that cross, how it was seen I can go now ever trusting in the one who died for me What could I bring, for your gift is complete So I trust You, simply trust You, Lord with every part of me Chorus X2 Jesus, only Jesus Help me trust you more and more Jesus, only Jesus May my heart be ever yours Words and Music By CityAlight

12.01.2022 My new-found favourite hot drink for the evening is the Twinings vanilla retreat (vanilla, cinnamon & camomile). It's so soothing and relaxing. It's week 2 of the school break and I am having a really relaxed time ... though I am only a little over half way done with my to-do list (mainly because I am really enjoying my piano practice time followed by relaxing tea time and writing in my music dairy !) But, you know, I think it's quite important to know when yo...u just need to slow down and be okay to simply relax and enjoy playing the piano and sipping vanilla tea. How is your week going? Btw the tea is from Woolworths

09.01.2022 "But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me" (rest of the lyrics in the description of the video). This songs gives us a vivid image and reminder of the road and cost it took our Lord to deliver us from our sins and redeem us He did it out of the eternal love He had for you and me. Good Friday everyone. ... Sarah and I recorded this wonderful song last year. Have a blessed Good Friday as we remember our Lord's death at Calvary. https://www.youtube.com/watch

08.01.2022 Hello Everyone! Welcome back to Sunday Hymns @ Home. Today's Hymn request is "In the Garden" by C Austin Miles. This beautiful hymn was inspired by the account in the Gospel of John 20 of Mary seeing and talking with Jesus in the Garden after the resurrection. ... C. Austin Miles: "One day in April, 1912, 1 was seated in the dark room, where I kept my photographic equipment and organ. I drew my Bible toward me; it opened at my favorite chapter, John 20--whether by chance or inspiration let each reader decide. That meeting of Jesus and Mary had lost none of its power and charm. As I read it that day, I seemed to be part of the scene. I became a silent witness to that dramatic moment in Mary's life, when she knelt before her Lord, and cried, Rabboni! ...Under the inspiration ... quickly as the words could be formed the poem exactly as it has since appeared. That same evening I wrote the music." LYRICS I come to the garden alone While the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear falling on my ear The Son of God discloses. Refrain And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; And the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. He speaks, and the sound of His voice, Is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody that He gave to me Within my heart is ringing. Refrain I’d stay in the garden with Him Though the night around me be falling, But He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling. Refrain x2 Words: Charles Austin Miles (1912)

07.01.2022 First week of teaching break is quite relaxing so far (lots of work scheduled for week 2 of break though ) A chai latte in a quaint local cafe is especially refreshing if one has not gone to the shops in over 4 weeks! (note to self: working from home does not mean you don't need to go out every now and then!) I also just noticed that I hardly ever share a post of me doing anything away from my piano except if it's on a travel adventure so I thought I'd share a bit of the joys of simple things of everyday life

07.01.2022 After more than 2 weeks of laptop services, updates, and reinstalling EVERYTHING ...AND loosing access to my precious Sibelius notation software (it wasn't compatible with the new iOS upgrade)... I have finally been able to reactivate a crossgrade of Sebelius Ultimate (goodbye good old Sibelius 7.5! You served me so well for 5 years!) Sibelius is one of the best music notation softwares but they sure make you work hard to have it installed!!! Looking forward to be resuming my music writing projects of arrangements and compositions. New music creating here I come

06.01.2022 Hello Everyone! Happy Sunday Hymns @ Home I’ve been revisiting some of the hymns that I first arranged as a child during the early days of my music journey. I first arranged Sing Hallelujah when I was 12 years old on my simple keyboard (the basic framework of that first arrangement is still there, though I’ve added to it, developed, and grew with it over the years). Because I’ve been playing it since I was a child, it’s always been one of my favouite hymns. It is so spe...cial to go back to childhood memories of music learning and realise how the hard work over the years have been worth it! And it also reminds me of my own journey as a Christian and how God has been faithful through the years. My heart is filled with thanksgiving to Him and I "Sing Hallelujah" Be blessed this week! Much love to you all xx LYRICS 1.Sing alleluia to the Lord (x2), sing alleluia (x2), Sing alleluia to the Lord! 2.Jesus is risen from the dead (x2), Jesus is risen (x2), Jesus is risen from the dead 3. Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth (x2), Jesus is Lord (x2), Jesus is Lord of heaven and earth 4.Jesus is coming for His own (x2), Jesus is coming (x2), Jesus is coming for His own. By Linda Stassen 1974 New Song Ministries

05.01.2022 This is one of the most epic and royal of entourages and events we'll ever see! The Pharaoh’s Golden Parade in Cairo! 22 mummies of famous Egyptian Pharaohs and Queens were moved from the Cairo Museum to the new National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation. The parade was marked by performances of epic music, dancers, costumes, lights...it's really an epic movie-like production. Go to this page to watch some of it @wualexandrian I still remember visiting the Egyptian Museum when... I was around 7 years old and remembering how epic it all was. I can only imagine what the new Museum will be like. Would defiantly love to see it one day! . . . . #egypt #pharaoh #parade #epic #epicperformance #pharaohgoldenparade See more

04.01.2022 Happy Sunday Everyone! Welcome back to Sunday Hymns @ Home. Today's Hymn request is "Be Thou My Vision". The words of this Irish hymn are based on a Middle Irish poem often attributed to the sixth-century. It is commonly sung to an Irish folk tune, "Slane".... Gracie (my sister) and I had a special time arranging it together and we managed to include 3 instruments today. Please sing along with us and be blessed this week! Lyrcs Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart; naught be all else to me, save that thou art-- thou my best thought by day or by night, waking or sleeping, thy presence my light. Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word; I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord; thou my great Father, I thy true son; thou in me dwelling, and I with thee one. Be thou my battle shield, sword for my fight; be thou my dignity, thou my delight, thou my soul's shelter, thou my high tow'r: raise thou me heav'n-ward, O Pow'r of my pow'r. Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise, thou mine inheritance, now and always: thou and thou only, first in my heart, High King of heaven, my treasure thou art. High King of heaven, my victory won, may I reach heaven's joys, O bright heav'n's Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, still be my vision, O Ruler of all.

02.01.2022 When one photo speaks a thousand words! Such a lovely photo shared by the Royal family! First and foremost a family; and a grieving family at this time. My heart goes out to HM, Queen Elizabeth. Sincere condolences to HM and the Royal family.

01.01.2022 This time last year I went to my first Ekka show (a famous Brisbane annual show of animals -horses, cattle, farm animals, craft, wood cutting, art, gardens, food, rides,...) it was quite a fun experience. I'm so glad we actually made it before 2020 happed and the show is sadly not running in the same capacity this year.
