15.01.2022 Here’s a little taste (pg rated version) of what happens when Sky News Australia and Alan Jones do not check who they are defaming. Last night, he used my image next to a tweet I had nothing to do with, and then boom - online abuse. I’ve asked for and been promised an apology by Jones on air, but the apology needs to also cover this hideous online behaviour that Alan Jones and Sky News Australia make space for. ENOUGH.... 01.01.2022 Warning - I've got my crankypants on ... It astounds me that yet another story about the accidental leadership of Arron Wood fails to interrogate, even in the smallest way, his obligations to the women working around him when he was the Deputy Lord Mayor under Robert Doyle. No reflection from Wood on how he tried to create a safe workplace, on what signs he may have missed, on how he will perform better for women if elected to the top job. No questions from the journalist ...on what he knew and what he did for those he was obligated to serve. The fact is, all Victorian Councillors are bound by the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004. This means they have a duty to provide a safe workplace. This duty falls on the council leadership Lord Mayor and Deputy heavily. If a complaint is about the Lord Mayor the obligation falls on the deputy. And don't get me started on potential breaches of the Councillor Code of Conduct. For the women of Melbourne, let’s hear a little from the accidental aspirant about this terrible time in the leadership of our City and importantly, let’s hear about how it would improve if he is elected to the top job. #proudtobeaunionist #proudtobeafeminist Bianca Hall The Age
01.01.2022 A budget lays bare the values of a government. Women of Australia- do you see yourself in this budget? Do you see your life? Do you see your path to recovery? Do you think that’s good enough?... #crediblewomen Women's Electoral Lobby, Australia
