23.01.2022 For the first time in the history of Mary MacKillop College, we proudly acknowledge the academic result of Kahlea (Year Eight) in the ICAS English competition. Kahlea is now the very proud recipient of the prestigious ICAS English medal, a medal given in each year level in each participating state of Australia when the top score is deemed meritorious. Congratulations Kahlea on this outstanding achievement! #MacKillopproud.

22.01.2022 After the wonderful launch of Amazing Asia with appearances from our special guests, the students are eagerly awaiting the activities for Day 2.

22.01.2022 Staff have been busy at home preparing for Year 7-9 remote learning, their 4 legged friends have also joined in. Kobe Marks, Monty and Holly O’Connell and Louie and Saba Tatarelli have been very useful checking over work and SEQTA. Sadly Lola Duffy and Abby Sutton haven’t been as much help. Stay safe MacKillop family

22.01.2022 The Year 7s have been busy learning all about forces in science this term. The girls have been exploring the ideas of friction with toy cars. Using the scientific method, they tested their ideas about how far a toy car would travel on different types of surfaces. This included developing a hypothesis, collecting data and identifying improvements to the experimental design. The girls have also been busy problem solving and thinking creatively to design and build marble ru...ns. The design criteria for the marble run included changing the motion of a marble in four different ways (speed up, slow down, change direction and stop) and the girls needed to determine the forces being applied to the marble as it moved through the structure. The groups worked very well together and it was fantastic to see the differences in their approach to the task. See more

22.01.2022 Students from Mary MacKillop College achieved pleasing results in the 2020 University of N.S.W. ICAS Assessments. Developed for students in primary and secondary school, ICAS assesses the higher order thinking and problem-solving skills needed for success in English, Mathematics, Science and Digital Technologies. Every year thousands of schools participate in ICAS in over 20 countries. This year, 12 students from Mary MacKillop College undertook the challenge and we particularly acknowledge the 3 Distinctions, 2 Credits and 2 Merits achieved. We congratulate all students who entered the competition and look forward to more participants in 2021.

This morning, The Honourable Jing Lee, MLC, JP, Assistant Minister to the Premier, addressed the Year 7 and 8 students about the importance of connectedness and being receptive to experiencing diverse cultures.
