25.01.2022 WCCCA elections 2016 Mapoon Ballot will be conducted and officiated by the Australian Electoral Commission at the Mapoon Council Chambers on Wednesday 5th October between 2:00pm and 4:00pm. All enquiries relating to this election process are to be directed to the WCCCA office in Weipa.

09.01.2022 Community Interest List for Indigenous Drivers Licencing Unit (IDLU) future visit. The Indigenous Drivers Licencing Unit are planning a community visit. DATSIP will support the visit and hopefully bring along a staff member from Births Deaths and marriages who will assist with the ID Process. The Community Interest list will help the IDLU with planning their trip which is scheduled for 25th and 26th September 2019.... If you have any Licencing inquiries please phone DATSIP on 40824501 by the 13th August 2019. If no response is received this trip may not go ahead.
06.01.2022 Meet your new Mapoon Fire Brigade Executive. Notification has been received as of today documents have been signed off by the Commissioner and the Mapoon Fire Brigade is now official. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Inspector Peter Ruddick has organised a firefighting Slip-On Unit designated for the newly proposed Mapoon Rural Fire Brigade.... The unit will leave Cairns on Friday and should arrive in Weipa early next week. Yet another initiative by Mapoon Aboriginal Shire Council.
