He took time off to heal and has been on a gradual return to work. From today, hes back full time. You can book a massage with him online. Head to www.soothenaturalmedicine.com.au/bookings. Or call us on 3342 0010. Thank you for your heartfelt messages to Adrian during his time of need. He appreciated every one of them.
19.01.2022 We - us included! - tend to spend so much time at work that our brains are constantly at full capacity. It’s easy for our minds to feel overwhelmed. There are some great mindfulness apps out there offering calm activities.... Headspace has hundreds of meditations (some are just 5 minutes long!) on pretty much everything. Check it out if you haven’t already. www.headspace.com
19.01.2022 Many spiritual teachers have taught that maintaining inner harmony is more important than outer harmony. It is when we depend on outside circumstances for our inner harmony that we often find ourselves in trouble. By remaining in harmony with our own wants, desires, dreams and ideas of how things should be, we can find ways to deal harmoniously with the way things really are. By becoming a person with inner harmony and peace, we will bring that sense of harmony and peace to everyone we come in contact with.

Immediately call your GP or 13 43 25 84 if you develop even the mildest cold-or-flu-like symptoms, self-isolate, and follow all directions. 16.01.2022 Happy lunar new year! It’s Spring Festival time in the East: a time when families come together and celebrate the birth of a new year. Think of our Christmas and new year celebrations in one. That’s what it means to the people of Eastern Asia.... Gong Xi Fa Cai to all of our lovely clients.

15.01.2022 It can be said the Chinese prize harmony above all things. Much, if not all, of classical Chinese literature is based on the idea of harmony. Calligraphy with its use of balance; food preparation according to taste, element and season; and movement arts such as tai chi and chi gong are all important parts of Chinese culture that are based on harmony. Harmony means that each element of a painting, a piece of calligraphy, a meal or even a movement are in balance with all other... parts. For example, in a Chinese landscape painting, all the elements are balanced with one another: the mountain rising up, the lone tree jutting out bravely from its flanks, the small stream meandering quietly along the bottom. In Chinese landscapes, humans are always the smallest figures, whereas in Western paintings, the opposite is usually true. In the Eastern tradition, humans are thought to be a small part of the natural world. If we are to remain in harmony with the world around us, we need to be reminded of this relationship. By recognising and maintaining the proper relationships between the human and the natural world, between the world around us and the world inside us, we remain in harmony and balance. This is the secret to long life, happiness, good health and spiritual attainment.

14.01.2022 How can we be harmonious in our lives? One way is to use the image of water. The Chinese philosopher Lao-Tzu tells us that the highest virtue is to be like water. Water, he says, benefits all things, yet never contends. Water always flows into the lowest level. It is colourless and it takes the shape of whatever container it finds itself in. It is patient yet very strong. Water - one of the softest substances in the world - can overcome the hardest substance. It carves canyons out of solid rock. If we take water as our guide, we can learn to be soft, yielding, flexible and humble, yet also patient and strong.

07.01.2022 We are so happy to say Adrian and Margi are now back in clinic Monday to Friday. They have adapted their practices, following the health departments safety rules. You will notice some changes to the way we operate, such as health declaration forms to be completed before you arrive, posters reminding us all to wash our hands and use hand sanitiser with sanitiser available in all rooms, and a reduction in the number of touchable surfaces in clinic. Also, there will only be one client and one practitioner in clinic at any one time. Its part of our duty of care to you, to stop the spread and be safe. Book online, through our website. It will be great to see you again in person! www.soothenaturalmedicine.com.au/bookings
07.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all our clients and their families. We couldnt go past this Buddha ornament. A nice cross-cultural gesture.
07.01.2022 Moxibustion. Who would ever have thought burning something that smells questionably hippy would ever be considered an important adjunct to a health therapy? But Chinese medicine practitioners have been extolling its virtues for more than two centuries.... Moxibustion is the burning of a herb called Mugwort, or Ai Ye in Mandarin. While burning Mugwort might smell like hash, it’s definitely not. We hover lit moxibustion sticks over acupuncture points to stimulate them. The points love it. The warmth feels comforting. We generally use a type of Mugwort that produces hardly no smoke or offensive smell. It’s a Japanese invention and we love it! You can get a treatment and head back to work no worries! PM us to find out more. 38 Cavillon St Holland Park

04.01.2022 Happy Chinese/Lunar New Year! Tonight is New Years Eve, Lunar Style. From tomorrow we enter the Year of the Sheep. Call it the Year of the Sheep, Goat or Ram: it really doesnt matter. Whats important is that this is meant to be a year of peace and calm. It is a time to relax and make peace with ourselves and with others. The influence of the Sheep brings us closer to our home and family and helps us focus on those we are closest to. Be sure to let go of petty worries, stop and smell the roses and share the moment with someone near and dear. By being true to our higher aspirations for peace and our inner creative voices we can live out the true potential of the Year of the Sheep. Gong xi fat cai!
