18.01.2022 Master Plumbers NSW is committed to developing the next generation of plumbing contractors and as such has established relationships with a range of High Schools to encourage careers in plumbing. MPA Training currently delivers the Certificate II in Drainage onsite at Colyton High School to years 11 and 12 students. To be successful in their studies, students are required to complete a mandatory work placement program comprised of some thirteen days over two years. Consequent...ly, expressions of interest are being sought from members who may be prepared to host a student for work placement. The students are not paid on placement and there is no cost to the employer at all. The employer is a Volunteer who offers time to students to learn what the industry is about by allocating small tasks and teaching them new tasks to give them a taste of the industry they have selected for a possible career, under the supervision of a qualified Tradesperson. The students are covered for full Insurance by the NSW Department of Education. The students all have a White Card and are required to complete industry hours on placement over the year. Any assistance with work placement is welcome. If you are able to assist please feel free to email Kerrie-Lynne Tindall, Workplace Learning Professional, Schools Industry Partnerships at [email protected] or call her directly on 0419 928 017. https://schoolsindustry.com.au/
