24.01.2022 Emily asked me to give Andy his first cross country exposure. Two major factors contributed to the reliability of training this young horse in cross country. Firstly the owner (Emily) is a capable and dedicated rider, who practices using ESI methodology. And second is the cross country course , it was specifically tailor-made for young horse education. Exposure to waters and ditches of various widths , banks, loose sand mounds and low narrow jumps. The emphasis was number one... stay on my line, and number two ,traverse the obstacle. To eliminate any unnecessary fear, the rider/trainer, has to know the appropriate order and level of difficulty for each individual horse. The Task is simple when the horses aids are clear because the rider knows when to apply pressure, and most importantly, when to remove it. This was all done at walk and trot only, and Andy made my job look easy! Thank you Emily for the ride, and thank you Sue and Andrew Mcdermot for supplying the course! See more

17.01.2022 My apologies to all those that didn’t get to participate in the clinic at Werribee on 29 November. Due to popular demand it was filled in a day! Plans are afoot to run a 2/3 one in December, which is not that long away! Happy riding Jonna
