15.01.2022 CEO RESIGNATION The Council of the Australian Association of Mathematics Teachers (AAMT) regretfully announces the resignation of our current Chief Executive Of...ficer, Mr. Duncan Rayner. Due to personal reasons, Duncan and his family are relocating back to Singapore in December of this year. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Duncan for his dedication to AAMT. His passion for promoting quality mathematics education for all has consistently underpinned his committed approach to the role. In his time with AAMT, Duncan has provided significant support to the AAMT Council in the effective running of the association. His innovative thinking has led to AAMT exploring new pathways, including international partnerships and projects, such as the International Exchange Program with schools and teachers in Shanghai and Singapore. Duncan has forged new relationships for the association with industry, as was evident at the 2019 Biennial AAMT Conference. He has been instrumental in initiating the updating of the AAMT and Maths300 websites along with developing stronger relationships with AAMT's state affiliates. Duncan's enterprising leadership has paved the way for a sustainable future for AAMT. We are extremely thankful for Duncan’s leadership over the last two years and we wish Duncan and his family all the very best for their move to Singapore. Lauren Beams AAMT President

12.01.2022 I recommend watching this video. It is American but if you ignore the American references then it is very helpful. Also I quite like the Matrix analogies. http://mathleadership.org/what-happened-to-math-class/

11.01.2022 How did you find learning from home during COVID-19? If you are a parent or carer of a child in primary school, we would LOVE to hear from you: https://redcap.utas.edu.au/surveys/?s=PET7JAJHAD Researchers Associate Professor Tracey Muir, Dr Carol Murphy, Dr Kim Beasy, and David Hicks from the University of Tasmania, School of Education are currently delivering a project that aims to investigate parents’ (including guardians and caregivers) experiences of home learning during ...COVID-19, with a view to informing how positive school-home partnerships could be developed and maintained in the future. The survey should only take 5-10 minutes of your time and your responses will be valuable to us in helping to understand how home-school partnerships were reimagined as a result of COVID-19, and whether or not these changes are/were sustained after children returned to school. Thank you for your time. Dr Tracey Muir See more
