07.01.2022 Dear Students What an amazing term we finish today! I use the word amazing deliberately, rather than terrible, dreary, long or difficult. Why? Because without doubt, we have witnessed an amazing sense of community, amidst all the online classes and co-curricular activities, with connections happening aplenty - through pastoral group sessions, community building times, breakout meetings, competitions, quizzes and so many other virtual events. ... While attending classes, always online, and often alone in your dedicated space at home, has not always been easy, so many of you persisted, and got on with things, completing and submitting your work and asking questions of your teachers as you needed, either on screen or via emails. The support of your parents was also much appreciated, especially when they made contact with your teachers on your behalf. To those of you who provided thank you messages on the recent survey... I want you to know that your appreciation is such a gift to your teachers, who I know have worked harder this past term, than ever I have seen - and this includes all my years of working in schools. It has been an amazing effort from them... with amazing responses from you! Well done on a great term's effort overall, especially including the times when things haven't worked out. Enjoy the term break ahead. Regardless of restrictions, you can sleep in, read more, draw, walk, play, exercise, be creative... try something new, plan a garden, take photos, learn a skill... the list is endless. So, best wishes for the holidays, stay safe, and remember to be kind, as you shine your light for others... be your best selves. Looking forward to our final term together, whether online or onsite or a bit of both. Mary Fitz-Gerald
