21.01.2022 Sturts Desert Peas are just gorgeously gorgeous arent they! As its name suggests, this distinctive wildflower is native to the arid regions of central and nor...th-western Australia. Sturts Desert Peas scientific name - Swainsona formosa- was named for English botanist Isaac Swainson, while its common name stems from the explorer Captain Charles Sturt. The flower was adopted as South Australias floral emblem in 1961. We think the striking combination of blood red flowers and bulbous black centre is definitely something to write home about. All photos taken on our Bon Bon Station Reserve in South Australia, where Sturts Desert Peas are a common sight after a good rain.

15.01.2022 Thinking of growing tomatoes this Spring.... HERE ARE SOME TIPS 1. Lets the Sun Shine in. Choose an open position with at least six hours of full sun each day.... 2. Prep your soil. Add compost to help with soil structure, and dolomite to prevent calcium deficiency. 3. Lots of space. Plant seedlings 70cm apart and secure against a hardwood stake, or you can try a tomato cage. 4. Nurture and Feed. In a fortnight, start feeding each week with Yates Thrive Tomato Liquid Plant Food, which will provide the tomatoes with a balanced diet of nutrients to promote lots of healthy growth https://www.yates.com.au/garden-cale/september/tomato-time/
