We are delighted that Kirstin Bouse has offered to present her wisdom on "Birth and Betrayal Working with women with birth trauma" with us. A Clinical and Forensic Psychologist for 24... years, Kirstin founded her group practice 16 years ago (Perth Psychology Collective). With a special interest in all things parenting/families, Kirstin’s experience ranges from being appointed Single Expert in matters pertaining to parenting capacity (child protection) and best interests of the child (Family Court) to working therapeutically with parents of infants through to adolescents. Her primary areas of interest and expertise include; peri-natal mental health (particularly birth trauma), work/mum balance, child protection/ fostering, family breakdown, best interests of the child (including residency and contact) and stepfamilies. Kirstin qualified as a yoga teacher in 2020 and completed further studies in trauma sensitive yoga and has founded Yoga for Mental Health. Dr Kristine Mercuri is an Honorary Lecturer in Psychiatry University of Melbourne. She is currently working as Acting Director Centre for Women's Mental Health at the Royal Women's Hospital as well as a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Mother Baby Unit, Werribee Mercy Hospital in Melbourne Kristine has also had 15 years o...f teaching and practising Mindfulness Meditation. She designed and manualised the MindBabyBody program which is a group out patient program for pregnancy which is highly valued by the women participants at the Royal Women's Hospital (Melbourne). She has contributed to conferences and presentations with her passion for improving and treating mental health in women and now enjoys encouraging and mentoring other clinicians in the perinatal field. Please share our event with like-minded souls in the community Dr Stuart Prosser... is a husband, father and doctor with over 15 years’ experience in general practice, anaesthetics, GP obstetrics and medical administration. During his initial General Practice training he completed his Advanced Diploma in Obstetrics and his JCCA in Anaesthetics. Stuart has completed a Master in Medicine, with a focus on perioperative medicine and health care systems and leadership. He consistently advocates for a multi-disciplinary approach to health care, one that increases the quality of both the patient experiences and outcomes. Stuart is a co-founder of @One For Women and founder of Western Obstetrics. One For Women is a private maternity service that provides specialist health care for pregnancy, as well as medical services and nursing support for mums and babies after birth.
