23.01.2022 Demolishing and reconstructing a retaining wall that had failed on a property boundary. Limited access and steep terrain has made the job interesting. We initially had to crane the small excavators onto the site. All the dirt has had to be removed from the site using a telehandler with a loader bucket on it. Another concrete footing to pour next week and then we have to get bricks up onto the site for the wall. We should see some interesting photos next week.

23.01.2022 For those who don't know, we had Tasmanian Helicopters from Latrobe fly some bricks, sand and cement onto a site in Burnie where we are reinstating a retaining wall that had failed previously. This has been an interesting challenge from day one that we have all enjoyed. We decided to use a helicopter as we could only place a small crane on the road which was limited to how far it could reach. The road would have been shut down completely for the day (if not 2 due to delays... with manual handling) and would have resulted in a long time delay for the project gaining permissions and notifying residents. The other reason was that we would still had to have carried them some distance uphill and unloaded them as they were placed onto the site. As you can see from the photos there is not a lot of room on the location to place the required materials which added to the difficulty. When you have 30t of bricks plus sand it was a no-brainer to look after the workers and seek a better method. See more

12.01.2022 Here is a couple of concrete jobs we have done over the last few months. House slab and footpaths were done by us from start to finish. The last 3 pictures are of a job that we are subcontracted to Hazell Bros for. There is approximately 12,000sqm to be concreted in 2 layers. We currently have seven people helping on site and are placing up to 100m3 per day depending upon the weather. A minimum of 5000m3 to be placed on site.

11.01.2022 This is why a chopper was brought in to do the job.
