21.01.2022 A nice surprise today - Santos Sydney Staff Social Club donated $300 they raised through drink machine sales to Narrabri Meals On Wheels- very much appreciated!

20.01.2022 Dear Meals On Wheels Clients To ensure the health and safety of both our clients and our volunteers during the current corona virus outbreak, we are temporarily changing our daily meal delivery method. We are asking clients to put a small chair or table outside their door that meals can be placed on by our volunteers. ... For those clients who are not mobile at all volunteers will still enter and place meal on table/benchtop but may wear masks and/or ask you to step back while they enter if masks are not available. When delivering to you, meals on wheels volunteers will continue to knock and call out meals on wheels to let you know they are here with your meal. They will then place your meal on the chair/table and step back to make sure you can get out and get your meal. The volunteers will check that you are okay and you are asked to let them know if you are running low on any necessities eg toilet paper, food items etc so we can arrange someone to assist you. If you need assistance to place a chair/table outside your door please contact the meals on wheels office on 67924835 or let volunteers know so they can pass the message on. We apologise for any inconvenience but to reduce risks of spreading the virus these steps must be taken at this time. Donna MacMillan Service Coordinator On behalf of Narrabri Meals On Wheels Inc.

17.01.2022 Narrabri Public School held a fundraiser for Narrabri Meals On Wheels on the last day of term 2. Funds were raised by children purchasing hot chocolate with marshmallows on top. Hot chocolate was sold in cups decorated with a lovely meals on wheels picture. Narrabri Meals on Wheels sends a huge thank you to Narrabri Public School staff, students and parents for their wonderful support of our service. Funds raised will be used to give our clients some "extras" with their meals this winter

08.01.2022 So lets have a good news day to brighten our week. Our service is feeling very grateful with support we have received.... The local RSL Club and Woolworths joined together in a project this summer with Narrabri Meals On Wheels to enable our service to distribute a bottle of water each day to our clients to encourage them to stay hydrated while the heat wave was on. The project has gone very well and we hope to be able to repeat it next summer. Thank you Narrabri RSL and Narr...abri Woolworths ! Last week a wonderful committee member drove to Tamworth and back to pick up toilet roll supplies that Woolworths had donated to NSW Meals On Wheels services to distribute to their clients. These were delivered to the majority of our clients on Friday- these were very gratefully received! Thank you Helen, Woolworths and NSW Meals on Wheels Association for organising this. Yesterday i was contacted by local business Sign Print Stitch to ask if we would like FREE signs they had made up for the vulnerable in our community! - You bet, I was on their doorstep at 9 this morning! The biggest thank you to Craig at Sign Print Stitch who like all small businesses is struggling but who still wanted to contribute to his community- we so appreciate this Craig! And last but certainly not least i would like to thank my wonderful volunteers. So many have phoned to offer extra help if we need it through the current situation and so many are happy to help us ensure that service continues for those in need in our community. Narrabri is a terrific community and i consider us blessed to live and work here, together we can deal with anything!!!

07.01.2022 Narrabri Meals On Wheels is holding a fundraising day on Wednesday 31st October. There will be a sausage sizzle, morning tea packs and lots of delicious cakes and slices. All donations of goods for the day will be gratefully received.

07.01.2022 Wonderful combined Christmas celebration lunch for over 100 of our volunteers and clients. Thanks to all for your continued support of our community service. Have a wonderful Christmas and lets hope for a very wet 2020!

07.01.2022 LOVELY EASTER PACKS SENT OUT TO ALL OUR CLIENTS TODAY Would like to thank Mrs Marg Burns for her kind donation that made these packs possible and to Di Wilson at Woolworths for all her help with buns and packaging.

04.01.2022 Narrabri Meals On Wheels now has a website! We have been busy working with Darrel and Ben from Tiemens Creative to get our website up and live and hope it makes it easier to find information regarding our service and keep updated on what is happening around Covid 19. The website is narrabrimeals.com.au... Have a look, check it out and see what you think!

04.01.2022 Meal deliveries for Narrabri Meals On Wheels Clients included an easter treat box today. Deliveries were done by our lovely easter volunteers Helen & Tracey and Di & Tarnia. With beautiful smiles like those we are betting our clients easter weekend is off to a great start!! Narrabri Meals On Wheels WILL be delivering hot meals to our clients on both Good Friday and Easter Monday this year as their families may have difficulty visiting them. Have a wonderful Easter everyone !

04.01.2022 More good things happening at Narrabri Meals On Wheels- Donations received from RB - Reckitt Benckiser- who sent us a can of Glen 20 Berry Breeze spray disinfectant for each of our clients and 50 ml bottles of dettol hand sanitiser for our volunteers. These were very gratefully received and distributed last week, with sanitisers being distributed to volunteers daily. RB have also partnered with Meals On Wheels for some informative tv commercials showcasing meals on wheels.... Santos have donated an ipad to our service that as well as admin tasks we are hoping to use to help some of our clients facetime their families. One of our lovely ladies is going to be my test run this week - thank you Pat :) Our local Rotary Club donated funds to allow us to buy small shopping baskets to place outside clients homes to make it easier for them to carry their lunch deliveries in each day. These will be distributed as soon as possible And yesterday we received a delivery of kindness - boxes of snack bars delivered through a partnership of kindsnacks and the kindness factory. So today we got to deliver a little bit of sweetness into our clients lives and after taste testing for quality i can tell you they are delicious! I must admit i am truly enjoying sourcing little treats, essentials and some extras to brighten our clients lives and love to see their smiles when they receive them. Meals on Wheels is one of those essential services that work quietly in the background and is often forgotten, so its been lovely that so many are thinking of those we look after in this trying time. Stay safe and well everyone and be kind to each other. Donna

03.01.2022 last update received - please check on dpt of health.gov.au for updates as the information changes constantly Thank you

03.01.2022 Some of the beautiful and creative Christmas cakes ready for delivery to our clients- thanks to Janice Smith and the lovely ladies from the Narrabri Branch of the cake decorators association. Truly edible works of art!

03.01.2022 How fabulous - Narrabri Meals On Wheels volunteers had to scrummage through the cupboards and find wet weather gear and dust it off today. As you can see Helen Southwell and Tracey Campbell are not the least bit upset about getting a bit damp while delivering the meals! Camera shy Kath Panton on the other run was just as happy about being out in the rain. One very damp coordinator/ action photographer is hoping the rain continues and is widespread and helps put out all those bushfires.

03.01.2022 sausage sizzle, morning tea packs, cakes and slices- come and support meals on wheels on Wednesday 31st October

A big thank you to our Rotary gentlemen who were there all day also with their great bbq... Joe Hayne from NorthWest Marquees and Events supplied tables and chairs- thanks Joe! Our local Woolworths gave a $50 gift card to help with costs and our wonderful community donated a huge amount of baked goods for us to sell - Thank you all

01.01.2022 A lovely celebration of 50 years of service to our Narrabri community held last night- a huge thank you to committee members for organising the event and the wonderful community members who joined us to celebrate!
