24.01.2022 About me and what I do. My name is Trinity and I own and run Matrix Health and Fitness. We are experts in making women more fabulous, fit and healthy and have been doing this on the amazing Gosford Waterfront since 2011. What actually is MHaF and what does it entail? ... At Matrix Health and Fitness we are fiercely passionate about providing to women the love and support required to thrive in life through our outdoor training programs, ongoing social support, our 8 week body renovation program and the positive mindsets required to take massive and radical self responsibility for actions, self talk and results. What are you most passionate about supporting women with? Our Vision: Women of the planet are truly seen and recognised as the amazing, sparkly and fabulous beings they are. What are some common womens health concerns you see? Honestly, its mostly being scared to start because of one of these 3 reasons. "Ill start training once Im fitter": This is a really super common one that I hear most often. Very rarely do I have someone start that is at the fitness or health level that is their ultimate goal, in fact I dont think its ever happened. Its literally about just STARTING. You will look back in 6 months and you will so not regret simply starting your journey. "Ill be so slow ": So heres the thing, no matter who you are on your health and fitness journey - EVERYONE has to take the first step at some point and do their first session right? I am just like you I had to do my first burpee, my first run etc etc...! In fact Ive had this conversation with many of our amazing MHaF clients when they were first starting too! And lastly, "everyone will think Im really unfit". Nope. NOPE. No they will not. We all started, we are all on our own journey. Doing something, anything, just starting is better and NOT doing it - fact. Your NEXT STEP??? Comment
23.01.2022 Top 3 secrets to why you can’t lose weight! HINT: None of these have anything to do with Fitness or Nutrition. So, you’ve been trying to lose weight for some time now...... Maybe you’ve yo yo-ed up and down but just haven’t hit the mark. Maybe you’ve lost weight and now you’ve plateaued. And maybe you just can’t seem to lose any weight at all. This can be so disheartening right? You eat all the right foods and exercise regularly but none of it seems to matter. So, I’m here to give you the "Top 3 reasons why" that is happening 1. Don’t give a s**t factor: Yup, it's a real thing! Readiness to make the changes required for weight loss can wax and wane. Sometimes we are totally pumped to implement changes and sometimes we just don’t care. Or, we think we care or are contemplating caring at some point in time. But that’s just not right now! OMG confusing isn’t it?! Recognising where we are in the readiness for change cycle is imperative to our success. 2. Chronic Low-Grade Stress: The biochemistry of the body is amazing. No amount of eating all the ‘right’ foods and exercising more can help us lose weight if we are running around on a stressed out body; as biochemically we are stuffed! If you are a YES person, or always busy, pushing the limits of burnout and overwhelm then you will not lose weight in this stressed out state. 3. No one ever hated themselves into losing weight: Hate is a word I rarely use, and if I ever do I don't use it lightly because it's a VERY powerful word. Sure, in the wellness industry the idea that we need to "love ourselves" can be overused and starts to fall on deaf ears after a while. But it is so true. Even if you are not at a point where you can stand there and unequivocally say "I love who I am, inside and out" that’s ok for now. However, if weight loss is a goal of yours then the best and fastest way to achieve that goal is to love (or like) yourself there! Love feeding your body healthy nutritious foods. Love feeding your soul with mindful practices that step you away from the normal stress of daily life and LOVE feeding your brain with new information that will carry you along this journey! LOVE the idea of health first and weight loss second. If you take this view, the AMAZINGLY cool stuff will simply fall into place! 23.01.2022 Can I tell you a secret? I am NOT a perfectionist when it comes to my own nutrition! 85% of the time I am really great with what I eat and I aim for balanced nutritious meals... and the other 15% of the time; you can bet there is chocolate in my mouth!... And you know what I don’t even care. I will sit there and enjoy every minute of it, GUILT FREE! Because I also know that my 85% of good living is enough to keep me healthy, happy and more importantly SANE! To be quite honest, I’m actually all about being 100% realistic! Who wants to put activated charcoal in their breakfast every morning, or activate their almonds every night, or even over activate their exercise, their days or their LIFE! What we need is SIMPLY... Lazy - Easy - Clarity. I don’t know about you but my life is pretty much full steam ahead. I just do not need to be crazy stressed about myself, my body and every bloody bit of food I put in my mouth. I make the health choices I do because I want them in my life and enjoying living a healthy lifestyle. Not because some movie star or website says I should. I mean, do we really need to be a purest, living some perfectly organic, grass fed, chemical free, whole grained, tofu laden life!?! If you want to eat a burger DO IT, enjoy it and make a healthier choice for the next meal. No guilt or beating yourself up. As long as you have your own health in mind overall and you are working towards implementing long lasting sustainable change plus the habits that will keep you healthy and happy long term then YOU ARE WINNING! The pictures we see on tv and the internet of perfection make us feel as if our end goal is so far away. But it’s really not. 20.01.2022 I want results YESTERDAY! How quickly will I see results? Right, so you’re back on track and moving again. You’ve cleaned up your eating, and if you're like me you want to know: HOW QUICKLY WILL I SEE RESULTS??? ... I am so often asked that question and to be honest there is no, ONE answer. It depends on so many factors. Firstly, what do results look and feel like to YOU? Let me break that down by filling you in on the most common results my fabulous clients achieve. Imagine you’ve started on your health and fitness journey, the first thing you will usually notice is they you FEEL better. Physically different, but hard to explain exactly how BUT it’s a really fabulous feeling. You are sleeping better, you have more energy from day to day and there’s an unexplained confidence sneaking in. Then, one morning about a month or so in - you are getting dressed for work and you realise that your clothes are fitting a little better. The next time you are training you realise that what felt really hard a few weeks ago doesn’t feel that bad today. Fast forward another few weeks and you might start to notice that you look a bit different. There is more confidence, your energy is increasing even more and you actually want to come to training with me! Another month or so later, you ARE noticeably stronger, leaner, got a bit of swagger in your walk and maybe even need to go buy new smaller clothes! No, you will not see changes in a day or even a week. We need patience, persistence and a plan. We need some time to fall in love with the process. Will it be easy? 18.01.2022 Already this year I’ve been getting bombarded by people asking me how to improve their habits and become a healthier happier version of themselves since 2020 is FINALLY done, AND so is the Christmas / New Year period. It has massively affected all our lives. There are two things you can do right now: ... Drop your standards Surround yourself with positive people Let me explain what I mean by dropping your standards ... What I mean - STOP comparing yourself to actresses and Instagram models. Just stop. It only hurts you right? And I don’t say drop it because I think you can’t achieve that body - it’s just not relevant for most of us. Try this by just unsubscribing and unfollowing pages that make you have unrealistic body standards for yourself. This is a start to get you on the right track. The second one is key; surround yourself with positive people. How do I know this to be true? Because, I have done this and will continue to do so. It is so important because if the people around you are negative, then you’ll either be negative or end up negative. FACT: Only 1 in 3 people get the amount of recommended exercise each week! And less than 5% get 30 minutes of activity a day. But where do you start? With all of the new & shiny fitness options out there, so many opinions about what’s best AND so many amazing claims to confuse us - information overload can actually stop you from ever getting started in the first place.
