21.01.2022 So what is this Kinesiology and Neuro-training? Put simply Kinesiology and Neuro-training is a way of helping you to recuperate from various events in life that has conditioned your nervous system to respond in a predicable way. We've all been conditioned from birth to act and respond in certain ways. Or a more complex definition... Neuro - training uses the combination of Eastern medicine modalities such as meridian therapy, eye positions, homeopathy, imagineering, timeline therapy and breath work with the Western medicine knowledge of human of anatomy and physiology to improve physical, emotional and mental health. Kinesiology encompasses holistic health disciplines which use the gentle art of muscle monitoring to access information about a persons well being. Originating in the 1970’s, and expanding from chiropractic it combines Western techniques and Eastern wisdom to promote physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Kinesiology identifies the elements which inhibit the body’s natural internal energies and accessing the life enhancing potential within the individual. (Australian Kinesiology Association 1999)

15.01.2022 Last nights @orangetheorybrookvale nutritional seminar with Aaron from @phoenixrecoverycentre! Key takeaways for those that missed it: Those experiencing brain fog waste line trouble and inflammation and pain: - Consume 3 - 6 meals per day with a palm sized piece of protein, handful of vegetables and some good fats eg avocado - grains are bad ie cause the brain fog and leaky gut ie rice, breads, pasta etc - fat, protein and vegetables are good ... - set yourself up for success start the day of with proteins and fats (my go to is scrambled eggs 3-4 eggs with coconut oil. - treat your body / stomach like a fire you want to put logs on the fire ie fats proteins and vegetables things that will give lasting energy, avoid sticks on the fire ie sugars, grains and dairy because you have to keep going back for more as your energy levels peak and trough. - sleep: it sounds basic but having a good 7-10hrs per night will make a big difference. It only takes 2 nights of poor sleep to put you into insulin resistance which means sugars are in the blood and leads to diabetes and weight gain! Above all if you can do one thing... listen to your body it’s telling you what it likes and doesn’t like, note what is responds well to and note when you feel tired, cranky, stressed, flatulence, stomach ache, head ache and so on what have you eaten? What was it that your body didn’t like? Experiment If you’d like to save time with experimenting we use muscle verification to find out what your body likes and doesn’t like! I am offering till the end of Feb free kinesiology/neurotraining 1.5hr sessions to first 10 people who work with us there are now 8 spots left. DM me now! #growthmindset #nutrition #goodfood #guthealth #goodfoodgoodmood #kinesiology #neurotraining

09.01.2022 Why athletes commonly tear hamstrings, get knee injuries and ankles? The legs are part of the major muscle group for getting from point A to point B in our chosen sport. But what people don't realise is that our leg muscles are part of the adrenal system.... The adrenal system is responsible for our 'fight', 'flight and 'freeze' response... This is our brains built in survival response, for example if we see something that stresses us eg a coiled up snake on a path next to your foot, your unconscious survival response takes over releases cortisol (chemical responsible for disease) and we jump out of the way and we haven't even thought about it. Its there to protect us from harm. In past generations the body soon recognises that the stress has passed and returns to normal. However in the past generations we weren't flooded with so much information and stresses from a modern society eg financial stress, work stress, societal stress family pressure and relationship stress. Therefore the stress response stays on and active. The cortisol stays active through out the body and causes illness, weakens muscles, causing other muscles to compensate for weakened muscles. If we note that an athletes body is placed under significantly more strain and loads. When the poor athlete who is under these stresses, steps out onto the track / field or court and begins exerting themselves.... TWANG there goes something important... Similarly if you have pain in your body chances are you have cortisol circulating your body... So if you would like to turn down your body's response to stress and train it to be able to have more resilience, or want tools and techniques to prevent yourself from more pain and injury, or you'd like to recover faster from an injury, lets get you to your best! Get in contact with me and book an appointment today! If you aren't sure if I can help or have any further questions reach out I look forward to hearing from you!
