25.01.2022 We are very excited to announce that Maxa Design have been appointed as the Design Review Committee (DRC) for one of Australia's most sustainable land developments, Mullum Creek. This means that It is our responsibility to ensure that all projects are designed and constructed in accordance with almost 70 design requirements, covering aspects such as thermal performance, materiality, aesthetics and landscape. The Federal Government have announced a $25,000 'Homebuilder' Grant today, however each State or Territory may not yet have signed the agreement to make it available to you (surely it won't be long!). It may be that State and Territories offer additional funding, such as Tasmania, where an additional $20,000 is available for certain circumstances. As we mentioned the other day we are delighted with the design of the house, including elements that we didn’t fully appreciate before it was built such as the light, & the winter sun being trapped in the living area. Overall the house looks beautiful we love it (& are getting a lot of compliments!). The curves, black bricks & wooden walls are all gorgeous. You’ve also been a great support throughout the process, which has been much appreciated. Thank you."

02.01.2022 Donvale ‘Earth House’ The northern wing of this home is bounded by a subtle curving insulated rammed earth wall that matches the alignment of the Western street boundary. We utilised the slope of the site to create an earth berm and green roof on the South of the home gave a significant insulation boost along with acoustic and visual privacy from vehicles travelling down the hill towards the residence. Our Tassie design on Bruny Island is a finalist in the Master Builders Tasmania 2020 building awards for excellence with winners to be announced on 20th November. Many congratulations to the builder, G Marriott Builders, for executing our design incredibly well and earning this recognition. All the best for the finals! With sweeping views of the Derwent River and Tasman Sea, this home has a sloping roof designed to follow the surrounding landscape.
