25.01.2022 Bev Langley, the founder of Cherry Gardens animal rescue centre Minton Farm, has wound back operations until councils in and around the Hills introduce 24/7 cat confinement. It comes after two devastating cat attacks left 35 rescued ducks and ducklings dead within a fox-proof enclosure at Minton Farm. Mrs Langley said cat attacks have increased over the past year. 23.01.2022 BREAKING: SA's strict stay at home order will be revoked from Saturday at midnight after an infected person was found to have lied to contact tracers. They told authorities they had ordered a pizza from the Woodville Pizza Bar. This alarmed authorities who believed the virus had been transmitted via a pizza. It turns out they actually worked at the pizza bar alongside a known case. Steven Marshall says he would do the same thing again given the same information. Some restrictions will remain in place.

21.01.2022 Sunday night's Brownlow Medal winner had a Hills connection as Mt Barker's Alan Taylor let out a cheer for every vote given to his grandson, Lachie Neale. Mr Taylor ended up with a sore throat as Neale finished with 31 votes, winning by a record margin of 10 votes. A very proud moment for granddad.

19.01.2022 The Federal Government has announced $200m to fix traffic congestion in Hahndorf possibly the biggest cash injection for Hills infrastructure since the Heysen Tunnels. Do you think this is the Hills' biggest infrastructure need?

18.01.2022 The State Government has rejected bids by 11 councils (including Mt Barker, Adelaide Hills and Alexandrina) to remain GM-free. The orgainic wine industry is particularly concerned the decision means it may lose market share with overseas buyers demanding producers be GM-free in order to maintain their organic status. 18.01.2022 SA COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS Will come into place from midnight tonight The following will be permitted to remain OPERATIONAL to maintain critical services only:... Critical infrastructure including power, telecommunications, water; Supermarkets for essential food; Bottle shops; Medical supplies and medical services; Public transport; Airport and essential freight; Petrol stations; Post offices and banking institutions; Child care and schools for essential services workers only; Veterinary; Essential agriculture services ; Factories remain open for essential machinery upkeep and production of essential products only; and Mining and smelting for continuity and to prevent damage. People will only be able to leave the house for the following reasons: To go to work as an emergency services worker or to worker providing essential services; For agricultural work; To receive medical care including seeking COVID-19 testing; To obtain medical supplies; One person from the household once a day to attend supermarkets to obtain essential supplies; Organised end of life visits; In an emergency situation. Masks must be worn outside of the home at all times. ***NOTE YOU CAN NOT LEAVE YOUR HOUSE TO EXERCISE. The following businesses will CLOSE: Takeaway food services; Shops (excluding essential food services); Universities and tertiary education facilities; Pubs/restaurants/café/food courts; Elective surgery/ except cancer; Open inspections and auctions; Fly in fly out worker; Aged care and disability facilities will go into lockdown; Construction industry; Holiday homes and other holiday accommodation and no further bookings; Wedding and funerals cancelled and banned; Outdoor sport/fitness/exercise not permitted; and Regional travel not permitted

14.01.2022 A prescribed burn of 14ha is planned for today in Upper Sturt. The burn along Sturt Valley Road in Mark Oliphant Conservation Park will commence at noon and is expected to be completed by 7pm.
