24.01.2022 During the COVID-19 lockdown, Sydney-based artists Keg de Souza and Lucas Abela wrote and published a book for their 3-year-old, Ernie. The book was inspired by a musing with Ernie about how confusing English pluralisation can be. Keg assembled some paper cut-outs and then incorporated the concept into a counting book, making it a dual-purpose book for toddlers teaching both plurals and numbers. 21.01.2022 Meet MCA Store maker Anne Mossman a Gold Coast based ceramist. Anne takes inspiration from the natural world, including geologic rock strata and towering eucalyptus trees. In 2003, Anne completed an Advanced Ceramic Diploma at the Australian National University and today works in the Japanese Nerikomi technique using coloured and layered clays. Fine white porcelain clay is coloured and layered before being sliced and built into functional and decorative vessels.... 14.01.2022 [A message from the Director re: COVID-19] The health and wellbeing of our visitors and staff is of paramount importance. We are closely following NSW Government guidelines including increased cleaning regimes, observing self-isolation recommendations and restricting events to a maximum of 500 people. The Museum and MCA Store remains open and our exhibitions including the 22nd Bi...ennale of Sydney: NIRIN and the Collection, as well as the MCA Cafe, Graze restaurant and Members Lounge are operating as normal.
