17.01.2022 We remember our neighbour Rick today who has cared for our garden for 7 years and sadly has passed away. We have a cat in our garden who will serve as a reminder of Rick and all the love and care he has put into our garden. Rick would be sad to know that some people in our neighbourhood have been taking some of our plants out of our garden. Please leave our garden alone and simply admire it thank you

15.01.2022 What does it feel like sinking your hands into a bowl of soft slime? How does ice feel when its melting? What happens to jelly when you squish it in between your fingers? There’s only one way to find out! Sensory play encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity. It helps to build nerve connections in the brain and encourages the development of language and motor skills. There are many benefits that may go unnoticed, such as the development of abilities to focus and block out distractions. We have been exploring sensory play through our centre and have had some magical moments, take a look! #Marylandcareandearlyeducationcentre #MCEEC #sensoryplay #messyplay #slime #iceplay #engagingthesenses #jellyplay #earlyeducation
14.01.2022 Play is the highest form of research. Albert Einstein There is nothing better then getting outside in the sunshine! Our environment can teach us so much about the world without us even realising. Playing outside gives us the chance to explore the natural environment and have some amazing adventures! We play games, test our physical limits, take risks, express ourselves and build our self-confidence. We also get to explore our own ideas and build our understandings of the world around us! #outdoorplay #environmentisathirdteacher #digging #building #jumping #explore #wonder #create #marylandcareandearlyeducationcentre #MCEEC

01.01.2022 Be part of the solution, not part of the pollution! On Friday our Preschoolers walked down to our local reserve to join in Clean up Australia day. We worked together to pick up and sort the different rubbish into the correct bags. The discussions on waste management, recycling and littering were flowing as we walked, searching high and low for any remaining rubbish. Before heading back to the centre we took a moment to enjoy the wonders nature has to offer. Educators noticed ...how proud our friends were as they took a moment to look at the impact their cleaning had on the local community; the smiles couldn’t have been any bigger For more information on how you can help support Clean up Australia, please visit the website https://www.cleanupaustraliaday.org.au/ #cleanupAustraliaday #Cleanup #sustainability #MarylanCareandEarlyEducationCentre #MCEEC #earlyeducation
01.01.2022 Day 5 NAIDOC week. Shelley visited with 2 Aboriginal dolls called Yarra which means tree and Yindi which means Sun and told a story about these 2 dolls that love everything about who they are. The children then recapped the Awabakal words they have been learning, looked at some more items such as a dream stick and Possum skins. It was a very hands on group time which the children loved. Thank you so much Shelley for sharing your time, resources and valuable knowledge with us this week!
