25.01.2022 Refurbishment of Harvey Norman Cairns underway and what a mine field we have encountered under the car park and grassed area. The old Cairns Brewery used to be on this site. Most of it still there buried . Concrete floors and walls under the asphalt car park. We now know why the car park is up high. Huge amount of work to cut, remove and dump the concrete. New fire and sprinkler supplies installed. All backfilled and compacted with cement stabilised roadbase.

24.01.2022 Cairns Regional Councils New Water Testing Laboratory completed this week along with relocation of some testing equipment and reconnection. Another project completed with Keir Qld.

24.01.2022 Another cramped grease trap installation to an esplanade restaurant. All handled efficiently with little fuss. Concrete cut removed and replaced after. Can your maintenance plumber handle this?

24.01.2022 Just completed base build and fitout of Energy Qld new administration building for Plos Constructions. Council sewer main upgrade with new manholes. New stormwater manholes over existing council pipework in street. Civil stormwater, fire hydrant booster and mains. Internal fixture fitout.

23.01.2022 Current project nearing completion in under 2 months. Hutchinson Builders refurbing the Cairns Regional Council Lake St Multi level carpark. McGahan Plumbing has completed an all new fire hydrant booster and hydrant main system into the building and up 6 levels. All new fire hose reels. New domestic water main as well eliminating the existing which was run in the ground floor concrete slab. Replacement of 85 existing galvanised downpipes with new pvc.

23.01.2022 New project underway in Atherton for Keir Qld. John Cole Toyota Isuzu showroom, workshop and paint shed.

20.01.2022 This is a funny one, not for the owner but. When the spa bath was removed for a renovation in a unit in the city this is the waste as found. Virtually blocked off the owner had a rubber plunger under the vanity cupboard and each time the bath was used he gave it a hit with the plunger .

19.01.2022 Coles Smithfield new fridge case trade waste drainage installation. Night work starting at 9pm. Hand digging 24mtrs of trench with 2 jackhammer spades starting at 700mm deep up to 300mm. 4m3 dirt out and sand back in. New drainage line in with branches finished the next afternoon.

15.01.2022 Cairns Regional Councils new water laboratory underground drainage. Hdpe pipe needed for protection against the chemicals used during testing.

14.01.2022 Recent sewer main diversion completed in the city before commencement of a new 2 story complex. Sewer mains air tested before setting up and pouring of insitu concrete manholes using our own steel rolled manhole forms.

14.01.2022 QBCC Recitification job for Dawson’s Constructions. Before and after of wires and pipes brought directly through roof sheets. New dektites and pan flashings added. Silicone Dektite added to flue with pan flashing. Added bonus was Colin and Darren working the day with Dan from Dawson’s having 3 generations of McGahans working together for the day.

09.01.2022 Another project McGahan Plumbing is currently working on with Keir Qld. 21 units close to the beach at Yorkeys Knob. Due for completion in the next 2 months.

09.01.2022 Underfloor trade waste drainage installed at Redlynch Central Shopping Centre for Lenard’s expansion. Concrete cut and then removed from the shop using pallets and pallet jack. 1 Ton of sand brought in using poly pit bases on 1 pallet and a similar amount of excess red soil removed the same way. All picked up and loaded with our own forklift and trucks. Easy when you know how.

08.01.2022 Another warehouse underway. 120 meters of underslab and external drainage in 2 days. Easy when you know how and have good staff and equipment.

08.01.2022 St Monica’s College Stage 3. Drainage from Level 1 Food science and hospitality rooms. Raupiano pipe to handle the trade waste and also for its acoustic properties.

05.01.2022 New project underway for Field Construct. Quicksilver Dive Port Douglas new showroom and dive training facility. Located in center of Port Douglas. All drainage clipped with SS clips and straps for future subsidence as the building is on screw piles.

03.01.2022 Busy few months with a wide range of projects. Redlynch Laundromat fitout.

01.01.2022 The new Gordonvale Fire Station is completed with handover of our as con drawings, council final and manuals. Was a good project and the builders Field Construct great to work with.

01.01.2022 Just completed project with Keir Qld. New Cairns Regional Council Materials Recovery Facility at the old Redden st dump. Fire services a major part of job. Methane gas extraction piping under the floor, dust suppression sprinkler system covering entire 2800m3 floor area along with working on top of an old dump site. Rubbish compacted well and very hard excavating through random landfill.
