22.01.2022 A beautiful crane visited us yesterday at the baths and snatched up an unsuspecting skink! Though we feel a bit sad for the skink, we are simultaneously grateful for the beautiful wildlife who visit our pool. Today looks like another beautiful day with water temperature 16 degrees.

10.01.2022 A quick reminder for everyone that tomorrow we will have council workers onsite. Please keep this in mind before you plan your trip to the baths!

10.01.2022 Good morning to all of our patrons! Happy "hump day"! The weather is looking pretty nice and we know many of you will want to head to the beach today or tomorrow. 1. Please remember that we are quite limited right now due to Covid and can only allow 10 people at a time for a 30 minute SWIM ONLY. If you're planning to come for sunbathing, please go to the beach instead as you will not be able to lounge on our grass or rocks. If you are not in the water, you will not be able t...o stay. 2. Because of the nice weather, keep in mind that MANY people will be attempting to visit the baths and there will be a long line outside. Admittance is based on arrival so first come, first served; some people who arrive late will not get in. This is not our ideal situation but our staff are doing their best. We encourage you to come visit us on a cooler day and help us spread out our visitors. 3. We are card only at the moment -- please bring a card to pay with. This is to minimise Covid transmission. 4. Our hours will be extended in October from 8am-4:30pm. We will still have a 10 person limit so you may want to consider coming back in a couple of weeks and visiting us in an off-peak hour to increase your chance of admittance. We know these Covid restrictions are frustrating for many of you but please respect our staff, other patrons and our facility while we all try to adjust. These changes are not forever -- we hope we can return to our normal operating conditions before the end of summer. Thank you for your cooperation!

09.01.2022 A little kookaburra snack at the baths today! Come join us! The sky is overcast but the water is gorgeous and youre pretty likely to have it all to yourself! Were open until 2pm.

08.01.2022 Ever heard of sea salps? We had quite a few in the pool today (probably thousands). If you came for a swim and wondered what this jelly-like substance was, check out this video! And if you come for a visit tomorrow, remember to close your mouth while swimming! https://youtu.be/iOsdB2pXp64 (FYI theyre harmless)

08.01.2022 This board of life members lives in our office and reminds us daily of this sacred space we are entrusted with. Every now and again, we welcome a visitor or two who knew these local legends and swam in our pool years ago. Last week, Kadrienne gave us permission to take her photo next to her mother in law’s name (Edna Ireland) and share it on Facebook. We are thankful that nearly 100 years after forming this community, our sanctuary is still here and that new generations of women are discovering the wonders of ocean swimming. We look forward to being here another 100 years and thank everyone past and present who’s protected our slice of paradise.

07.01.2022 Dear Patrons/Members/Fob Holders, The R&CLSA Inc. empathises that it has been a difficult few months over Winter with restricted hours to the Baths due to COVID-19. We trust you understand that McIver's Ladies Baths needs to be supervised with contracted Staff and members of the Executive Committee, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike other Baths and swimming or aquatic centres, McIver's does not have support under the government Job Keeper Programme. In trying to meet the ...needs of our community, along with our sub-license agreement responsibilities and NSW Health orders, the R&CLSA Inc. has seen an increase in costs and decline in income. At present, our categorisation according to NSW Health, only permits ten patrons in the pool at one time. Physical distancing of 1.5 metres must be maintained at all times, and the Change Room must remain locked. Recognising these challenges, balanced with the needs of our community, the R&CLSA Inc. EC, will be increasing the hours of operation from 01 September 2020. We appreciate your patience and understanding, and look forward to further extended hours from October 2020. Scheduled hours for Baths are: SEPTEMBER 2020: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday 12-2pm Wednesday - 7am-10am and 12-2pm Saturday & Sunday: 10am - 2pm OCTOBER 2020: Everyday: 8am - 4.30pm Stay well, and we look forward to seeing you at the Baths. Kind regards Marianne Kadunc R&CLSA Inc.- McIver's Ladies Baths President & Liaison Officer

07.01.2022 Dear Community, For your reference here is a link to our page on The Randwick Council Website Please keep in mind that we currently are only able to have 10 people in the pool and grounds at a time. At this stage all patrons have 30 minutes swimming + change time.... No use of the grounds for sun bathing or any other activities at this time. If you want to sunbath, read by the sea, picnic or any other activities it is advisable to plan to visit other ocean pools or the beach. We empathise with you that this is frustrating and challenging for all of us. When NSW Health restrictions change we will let you know. Please be mindful that we are doing our very best under extremely challenging conditions to be available for you to visit the Baths. If you are wanting to picnic the surrounding parks are available. You may like to consider a swim and then a picnic in the park. Remember, this is not forever. Stay safe and well and lets all work together to get through these challenging times, being mindful of others and above all being kind to one and other. Thank you kindly for your understanding and patience. https://www.randwick.nsw.gov.au//ocea/mcivers-ladies-baths

02.01.2022 COVID UPDATE: This week the Premier and NSW Health have implemented a new rule that all visitors check-in upon entry using a QR code for contact tracing. Our code uses the Service NSW app for smartphones and we will be requiring people to download the app and scan in with it when they visit the Ladies Baths. To save everyone some time, download the app before your visit so we can get you into the pool faster. If you do not have a smartphone or do not have a phone with you, we will still record your details manually and allow you entrance. For more information: https://www.abc.net.au//nsw-new-mandatory-qr-code/12912158

01.01.2022 A glorious day to be outside enjoying the sun and the sea. If you are coming to The Baths today please be aware there may be a wait time to enter so bring an umbrella for shade, water for hydration and remember it's card payment Look forward to seeing you

01.01.2022 Beware the pestilence of the sea! Bluebottle jellyfish have been spotted on Coogee beach today due to a very strong onshore wind and large swell. While we do our best to extricate these little devils, please bare in mind that this is a tidal ocean pool and we cant keep them all out. If you do come to McIvers for a swim and are stung, come let us know we have ice packs on hand and mentholated spirits to help treat your stings. See you soon!
