25.01.2022 A little Saturday morning fluff before I do a Broadway dance class on Zoom. Unique Selling Propositions (otherwise known as USP's). Do you have one? They may only be a couple of sentences long, but these babies aren't easy for most people to nail. Particularly when it's about your own brand (ugh, hate writing about myself!). But I have a process that I use with clients to workshop and write a beautiful USP that defines your business. In a neat couple of lines your USP shou...ld sum up what you offer, why it's unique, who your services or products are aimed at, and your business philosophy (aka your flavour). Your USP is usually featured on your website homepage so people can see at a glance exactly what you're on about. It's also perfect for your About Page meta description, social bios and online directory listings. The process of writing your USP helps you to really hone in on what your brand is about and what you really want to focus on. So there you have it. A little nugget to consider over a glass of wine this weekend. I'm off to dance to ABBA.

No matter how small your business is, defining your USP gives you a rock solid base to tell potential customers exactly who you are, what you do, what makes you different and what your overall vibe is about. You will use it across your website homepage, your social media page descriptions, your Google My Business page, directory listings, flyers and sales material. Can you sum up your USP in no more than two sentences?... It’s not as easy as it sounds. If the task seems a bit daunting I can help write your USP. 05.01.2022 Fireside musings... Average product descriptions really get my goat. Particularly as I write product descriptions for a living. The amount of times I browse online (which is a fair bit these days) I am often left feeling ill-informed or uninspired to go through with a purchase. Crackin' product descriptions are an investment. As is the way you optimise your product pages for search engines. There's a lil' gold nugget to consider if you have an e-commerce store that could be p...erforming better (or are planning to launch one). Now back to making damper with the kids (country-style home learning #101).

01.01.2022 As a freelancer it's so important to upskill and enhance your offerings. In early 2020 I completed a course in Wordpress web design to build upon what I already knew.
