16.01.2022 (Sorry, yes, another sydney CDLite wrap up post. but there are people we need to thank) Letting the dust settle after an amazing Sydney CDLite! So good to be back in the swing of competitions and to catch up with everyone again. Thank you as always to Toni Venhaus, Cathie Drury-Klein and their incredible team who always make these competitions as horse and rider fun and friendly as possible! And to all the supporters and sponsors of all the classes! ... Who ever said they didn’t like mares hasn’t had mares like the two I competed on the weekend! QS Sierra is owned by Dave and myself. We had no idea how amazing this horse was going to be when we purchased her, and yet I believe she has so much more still to give. The feeling this mare gives you is incredible! Sierra won both the 1st and 2nd rounds of the 6yo classes with scores of 9 for her trot 9 for canter, and 9 for perspective both days! 87.8 and 89.0% Unfortunately the atmosphere of her first indoor experience got the better of her in the 6yo final, but these things happen. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for this special mare. Hollands Bend Rococo owned and bred by Jane and Peter Bartram, as always put her heart and soul into her performances on the weekend. This girl just gets better and better and never stops trying for me! She is just a complete delight to campaign! After only a handful of advanced tests she won champion advanced horse against some of the most outstanding horses. After all this talk of amazing girls, i have to mention the amazing boys! Dave competed the beautiful De Niro gelding, HV Del Piero in the 6yo class. We sold this horse a few years ago to the wonderful home in Emma and Jess O’Sullivan who continue to produce this horse so beautifully. After only a handful of rides leading to this event, these boys were on fire coming second in the first round, and pulling off an amazing test in the second round. We were thrilled with the results and work of this horse! All in all, Sydney CDLite was a wonderful week for us. Thank you to all our girls Zoe Boyce Keevah Lennon, Chelsea Brown and Lily Balchin for all your support, amazing care and pride in what you do. Thank you to all our owners and clients for allowing us the privilege of working with your horses. Thank you also to our ongoing sponsors who we couldn’t do this with out! Woodside Quebec getting a 75% in her first elementary, and Woodside Bellarius getting an 81% in his first Novice. Thank you ACTDA for a fab day of competition.
