24.01.2022 Who is Mclaren Vintners? McLaren Vintners is a contract winemaking facility that turns grapes into wine. We started operations in 2005, and are continually expanding and trying new techniques to optimise our winemaking process. With over a dozen different clients making many labels and different types of wine, we specialise in giving our clients exactly what they want and need. ... Each year we aim to process approximately 5 - 6,000 tonnes of fruit; that’s around 4 million + litres of wine! This wine is destined for over 400,000 cases (4.9 million bottles) of wine. And with our new site works due for completion in March 2022, we will be able to increase our wine storage capacity by an extra 1,771,090 litres, (thats an extra 2.4 millions bottles of wine per year!) Through techniques that are hundreds of years old, combined with the newest winemaking technology, and NATA accredited lab analysis to boot, we aim to give our clients the best possible service, and make some of the finest wine in the world. McLaren Vintners is a 5,000T+ premium custom crush facility located in McLaren Vale, processing fruit predominately from McLaren Vale, the Adelaide Hills and Coonawarra. The role of Cellar Hand is to support and assist in the winery production by successfully completing their assigned tasks in an efficient and safety conscious manner.... Success will depend on the applicant being able to positively work as part of a team environment, possess sound communication skills, have a fine attention to detail and a high degree of self-motivation. JOB REQUIREMENTS Working with the winemaking team and the Cellar Manager to complete the required day-to-day winery operations. Demonstrate a high degree of initiative in how jobs are handled. Experience working in winery operations and production is required. The technical skills and knowledge to operate equipment used in winery operations would be an advantage. A high, personal work ethic. Sound reading, writing and arithmetic skills. A current Australian forklift license and confined space permit is preferred but not essential. International applicants must attain a valid Australian Work Visa. Vintage Hours Vintage will last for approximately 3 months; successful candidates are expected to work the necessary hours to fulfil the role as cellar operator during this period. It is envisaged that vintage would commence from mid-February with a high volume of hours each week over a 6 day period being required. This role is on a casual basis during vintage, however there is potential for the position to become ongoing casual depending on business requirements post vintage. 06.01.2022 Happy New Year! We hope you had a relaxing break that involved plenty of good wine! Our site works is coming along nicely and on schedule, with 16 of our 30 double decker storage tanks (split tanks) now standing (which are located to the left of the white truck in the shown picture). This means we have an additional 479,800 litres of wine storage, not to mention that 10 of these tanks have a 10 tonne open fermenter on the top.... Once our site works is complete, the total volume of wine that we can store in these tanks is 1,771,090 litres! To put that into perspective, 1,771,090 litres is equivalent to 2.4 million bottles of wine!!! (Picture taken 11th Jan, 2022).

27.12.2021 Our second newest member to the McLaren Vintners family, is Kerry, (pictured here with her beautiful family). I asked Kerry the same five questions to help us get to know her a little better: * What's your new role at Mclaren Vintners? ... I'm the new Laboratory Manager. *Why did you want to work for Mclaren Vintners? I love working in a laboratory and was looking for the opportunity to work in one again. Earlier this year I worked my first vintage and I enjoyed learning how wine was made. This role combines both! *What's your favourite wine of all time? My favourite is probably a good sparkling wine. *How do you like to spend your day off? My dream day would be going to the gym/running in the morning, breakfast and a coffee at my local, then I'd head to the beach with a good book and my family! *What will you be doing on Christmas Day? Morning with my family watching my girls open their presents, before heading to my brother in-laws for lunch (with my husband's family), then dinner at my brother's place with our family. 04.12.2021 Introducing our new retaining wall. Some major earthworks are underway to make room for 14 new double decker tanks!!! What makes these new tanks so special is that the top half is a static 25 tonne fermenter, and the bottom half of the tank holds 60,000 litres of wine!... These tanks, once installed, will make this whopping 4 metre retaining wall look small
