22.01.2022 Don't miss out on history being re-written this weekend! In the 1920's in Australia there was a well known female photographer called Daisy Harriet Llewlyn. Never heard of her? That's because like many other female photographers of her time, the history books didn't tell her story. But when theatre maker Marg Dobson was handed a pile of glass plate negatives that had been found in a shed in Ballarat, she began what has become years of detective work to rediscover Daisy and he...r work. She's turned the adventure into a funny, fascinating and moving one woman performance that will be showing this weekend both at Footscray Community Arts Centre and streamed online. The show creatively engages both live and online audiences through technology that pushes traditional theatre boundaries. It's three shows only as part of PHOTO 2021, so make sure you snap up your tickets quick sticks. As a bonus, it's looking likely restrictions will be eased again this Friday, so celebrate with a night out (or in) supporting the arts. https://footscrayarts.com/event/picture-her/

22.01.2022 If you're looking for a way to engage and advocate for change this International Women's Day, Women's Health Grampians "Equality for All" program has Equality Advocates available to speak at your event or organisation. There's a bunch of diverse women who's stories will provoke thought, inspire and at times shock you to know what lived experiences are currently happening in Victoria. The good new is, these women share stories to allow us to raise awareness and create change. Get in touch via the details below to find out more!

16.01.2022 Who's needing a new podcast series to listen to? I'm super excited to share the first episode of a podcast series I've been working on with Women's Health Grampians and the incredible women who are a part of the Equality for All program. This podcast shares powerful, moving and thought provoking lived experience stories from diverse women in Regional Victoria. It was a total honour to record and edit these episodes and help get these stories out into the world. So often we l...ive in our own bubbles, surrounded by people who are similar to ourselves. These stories will give you an incredible look into lives and experiences you may not know, or even believe is still happening today in Australia. On so many occasions during the recording of these stories, I was filled with admiration and awe for the strength of these women and the bravery they showed in telling their stories openly and honestly. Check it out on the Spotify link below, or search for it on other podcast apps. If you follow along, you may even hear my voice on one of the upcoming episodes ;-) https://open.spotify.com/show/6WzyG40P48PGiGo9kOehQR

09.01.2022 Calling all LGBTIQ creatives! I'm working on a project with Cafs Ballarat to create a projection art installation called "Captain Moonlite Rides Again" onto a large Ballarat wall and we're looking for loads of great submissions to include. Check out more information via the Expression of Interest on the CAFS website. Can't wait to see what you submit!

08.01.2022 In the spirit of IWD this week, check out the latest episode of the Women's Health Grampian's "Equality for All" podcast. In this episode you'll hear me talking with Gunditjmara and Wotjobaluk woman Tanisha Lovett about the role photography plays in social change (and what every one of us can be thinking and doing every time we take a photograph), along with my own experience from an LGBTIQ perspective. It's always challenging to talk openly about my experiences, but the more I do it, the easier it gets. Hope you enjoy. There's 5 other episodes from some incredible and diverse women sharing their experiences too, so you may have just found yourself a new podcast to listen to! Check it out via the link below or search for Equality for All on your fave podcast platform https://open.spotify.com/episode/7qt49zGZf9HEse7OYQdw4Y

06.01.2022 Back in action and nice to be creatively challenged again, for my second stop motion animation of another one of Australian artist Inga Hunter's work journals. I'd almost forgotten how much work some shoots take to set up. I'm extra excited to hear restrictions are also lifting for galleries, so places like @araratgallerytama will have their walls full again! Time to plan a visit...

05.01.2022 OMG, I've just had a sneak peak of the test run for the Cafs projection Captain Moonlite Rides Again - Launch Night and it looks freakin awesome! Make sure you tune in to Channel 31 or Lance TV on facebook at 9pm this Friday night to check it out, or head down to the corner of Lydiard and Market St Ballarat any night between 8.30 and 10.30pm until 25 March. This project celebrates the LGBTIQ community through some incredible art created by LGBTIQ artists. It's a project that... is extremely close to my heart and it's been a total honour to curate / edit the project into what you'll see projected onto the wall each night. What an amazing initiative from Cafs and it's also heartening to hear all the support from Ballarat leaders in the video below. Seeing, hearing and publicly celebrating LGBTIQ stories is so important. Watch below to hear why... #ballarat #lgbtiq #projection

04.01.2022 When Megan J Reidl sent me a poem she had written that she wanted to make a video for, as soon as I read it I knew it would resonate. At a time when it feels like every second news story is about sexual assault, have a watch of Megan performing her work below and you'll see how pertinent her words are. Thanks to Ballarat Arts Foundation for the support to make this video happen and of course, to Megan for penning word that resonate so loudly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqWWuWd4Lig

02.01.2022 Why not wake up here sometime soon?! I've just created some new photos of this church conversion near Castlemaine in regional Victoria and I may be a little biased, but I reckon it's the best Air Bnb experience you'll ever have Get on over to Air bnb and start planning your trip! airbnb.com.au/h/goldfieldschapelfryerstown

01.01.2022 Reading the news this morning, I was so excited to see this article on the home page of abc news. I freakin LOVE these women! My heart is swelling right now to see A Pot of Courage being celebrated and all the goals these women from around the world are kicking. Hooray for everyone involved! If you haven't been to the cafe in Ballarat yet, call a friend and make a date. The food is delicious and you'll be supporting a brilliant initiative at the same time :-) Happy New year everyone! 2021 is going to be a cracker I reckon https://www.abc.net.au//migrant-women-build-own-b/13033906

01.01.2022 These two photos are part of a series of images that I currently have on show at the Phee Broadway in Castlemaine. It's part of an exhibition called "Respect: see it through". This work is the first time I've created self portraits, which is terrifying, but in Covid times seemed an apt way of creating portraits that challenge gender stereotypes, while adhering to the restrictions at the time. The show is on until 10th December, so there's a week left if you want to check it out.
