23.01.2022 Thank you for your service Since 2005, Meadow Flat Public School has been cleaned every day to ensure our school looks presentable and tidy. There has never been such an urgent time as the present to have our students kept safe, and it is thanks to the detailed work of our cleaner, Jenny Fielden, who has gone over and above to contribute to keep our students and staff safe. Every morning Jenny arrives at 4.30am to pick up from where the students have left off. Sometimes I wo...uld get a phone call from her at 6am to hear that the snow was falling or we may need to put something in place. It would not matter if it was hot or sub-zero degrees, Jenny would always make sure the students returned to a safe learning environment that was immaculate. Jenny has been doing a double clean since the students returned to the classes after the home learning period. It has only been since then that we have seen Jenny in action as all of her work was completed before staff arrived. Today was Jennys last day. We will miss her and she will leave behind a high standard and big shoes to fill. Thank you Jenny for your tireless work and your service in excellence to making public education great at Meadow Flat Public School.

10.01.2022 Today Portland Central came to visit! Mrs McLean and Miss Whitaker taught us two Agriculture lessons. One group put cream in a glass jar and then shook it really hard. Once it started to come away from the edge of the jar, we added salt and shook it some more. When it was set we got to spread it on some bread and add sprinkles. The second activity involved a Jersey calf called Stanley who was 49 days old. We checked his health and guessed his weight. He weighed 40 kgs. If we ...were correct or close we won a prize. Thanks again Portland Central for another amazing session. We cant wait for Art next time! Lucy The calf was very cute. I enjoyed checking if his nose was warm or wet. Aiden Stanley looked very tired and happy after seeing us. Brae I enjoyed checking his breathing. I put my hand near his stomach and listened to his breaths. Lilly I loved shaking the jar and creating yummy butter. Lachlan S I shook the jar really hard. It made my arms tired. Ava I liked seeing the cream turning into butter.
