13.01.2022 Recently our lovely friends Marg and Dorothy had a small jam drive. Kumquats were supplied by Marg and Dorothy made the jam. Over $110 was raised through this. We are so grateful for their time and energy. We are not having a big show this year so we are relying on sales of products to help raise the money for these kids. Thank you to these lovely ladies for their generosity of time.

13.01.2022 A message straight from the beating heart of Esilalei: Dr Emiliana wants all our supporters to know!! ‘Thank you verry much, the project of contract will start soon, on be half of Esilalei people I am saying thank you verry much all of you’

12.01.2022 This year has been a very hopeful one for the people of Esilalei... among the humanitarian contributions, ten of us brought treasures from Australia to them and, since our big fundraiser in September, they have seen a new Hospital/Clinic rise up where Dr Emiliana will be able retain patients who are too sick to return to their home. We have sent $20000 to Donna Duggan to help get this done. We want to just thank all supporters especially the Boonah State High School Interact Club who donated $500, Dorothy Smith’s Holland Park Uniting Church’s Likeminded Friends who raised $1000 and from the wonderful Bayside Uniting Church Messy Church group who raised $1771 over a three month period..

09.01.2022 We are absolutely humbled and honoured that so many have supported this project to make a difference in the poverty-stricken lives of the Maasai people of Esilalei. Over Au$20000 has been sent to Donna and dear Lango has project managed this essential extension to the village clinic. In one month the progress has been amazing!! Dr Emiliana will soon have space to attend to patients needing hospitalisation.. fitting out the rooms will be costly so we press on with fundraising.. The Teacher Accommodation that is needed to apply for qualified teachers is also on our radar... hopefully a 2020 project as Tanzanian School year starts in September!!

09.01.2022 How gratifying to see every cent raised already being used to make life better for those people in Esilalei living in poverty and need!!

08.01.2022 Are you having big gatherings this Christmas season? Will you be drinking from cans or bottles? Consider donating these to Mealtime for Maasai Students. Just d...rop them off at our place and We will exchange them for much needed cash. So far this year we’ve raised over $500 through kind donations of bottles ( plastic and glass) and cans. See more

08.01.2022 This is how fast it all happens at Esilalei!!! The funds have paid for the bricks, sand and mortar for the two consulting rooms for the Clonic... well done Lango!!

04.01.2022 Progress Report on the ‘hospital’ building that is being erected to assist Dr Emiliana to better care for the wide range of health issues among the women, young girls and children in the disadvantaged Maasai village of Esilalei. The bricks were not a good standard but the ‘Fundi’ (tradesman) has done a great job to get it to roof level. We are still raising funds for the teacher accommodation at the school.. Thanks to Dorothy Smith who shared the Esilalei story at her local church in Holland Park Brisbane and the folk donated nearly $1000 for the projects.

04.01.2022 Kelly has very generously donated the sale of a farmhouse table and 8 chairs to Mealtime. We are so grateful for her thoughtfulness. $375 was generated from the sale. We are not having a big show this year so we are relying on sales of products to help raise the money for these kids. Thank you Kelly.

03.01.2022 Avocados Recently our cousin Beth donated the fruit of an entire avocado tree to our charity. Eil and I climbed and picked until we couldn't reach anymore! We then had to work out how to disseminate these and thought our amazing friends, who work at school campuses, could help. Thanks to Alex, Carol, Kelly and Daph, we were able to sell $500 worth of this amazing fruit. Mealtime for Maasai Students is a community project and the community was absolutely wonderful with this d...rive. We are not having a big show this year so we are relying on sales of products to help raise the money for these kids. Thank you everyone who was involved in this. See more

02.01.2022 'Mealtime for Maasai Students' is an Humanitarian Project supporting the children of Esilalae school near Arusha, Tanzania, Africa. BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Donna Duggan, an MBC Old Girl whose parents still live locally in Brisbane, is Founder & Director of the Safari Company MAASAI WANDERINGS. One of her humanitarian achievements has been to establish a village school at Esilalae, outside of Arusha, answering a great need of the Maasai community (2009). About 200 children now... attend the village school each day. However, their diet is poor and this affects their ability to learn. Donna’s dream now is to improve the nutrition of these children so they can reach their full potential and be able to make a difference in their communities. She needs help to do this. As little as AUD$50.00/year will provide a nutritious meal of beans, rice and corn for one student. This will also cover fuel costs and pay a cook to prepare the meals. We need $10 000.00 committed to establish a trial year for this project. 100% of your donation will go to 'Mealtime for Maasai Students'. (There will be NO administration costs) 200 committed people can make a difference! Perhaps a group you are involved with might like to support this project. We will give regular updates via Facebook and email with a view to continue the program in the future. We will be travelling to Tanzania in January 2018 to facilitate this program.
