23.01.2022 As required by the Australian Tax Office, All Australian workshops that integrate with Xero have to use 2 Factor Authentication. If you run an Australian workshop with MechanicDesk and integrates with Xero, please take some time to set up 2 Factor Authentication for all users to avoid service disruption. 18.01.2022 Our security system has a small change, current "mechanic" role will be changed to "senior mechanic", new "mechanic" role will be similar to restricted mechanics but with full access to their job including invoice, purchase order etc... You do not need to do anything as it should not affect current employees access.

16.01.2022 For our NZ workshops, starting from today, if your customers reply to one of the SMS sent from MechanicDesk, you should receive the reply to your workshop email address. For our AU customers, you can configure the SMS to send directly from your mobile in Settings -> Workshop Details -> Miscellaneous (Workshop Name When Send SMS) and have the replies go directly to your mobile phone. Let our support know if you need any help with setting this up.

16.01.2022 Another great improvement from the Development Team. For Navigator Pro integration, you can now convert the Logbook Service Note directly to MechanicDesk checksheet. For all supplier system integrations, you can now also, specify how the items' sell prices are set, to either use the supplier recommended retail price, or MechanicDesk buyin markup.

13.01.2022 The ios version of the app is now fixed. please update to the latest version 2.23. If you still have an issue, please delete the app and reinstall.

12.01.2022 Another great addition to MechanicDesk! Administrators and staffs can now "Approve" reviewed timesheets. Once a timesheet item is approved, it cannot be changed by mechanics. If any modification is needed theyll need to contact admin person. There are also two extra restrictions, cannot approve timesheet and cannot update approved timesheet, so make sure you set your employees restrictions properly. With this update, we will soon add the timesheet section for all employees including mechanics so they can manage as well as review the approval of their timesheets.

First out of the pipeline is Tag Management. If you are not familiar with tag please have a look at the tutorial video in the comment section. It is an awesome tool to manage your workflow. 07.01.2022 If you are tracking mechanic time (clock on and off). With our new Diary View for Timesheet, you can now know exactly what they are clocking on at any point in time.

06.01.2022 A few changes to reports: 1. A new report has been added! "Daily sales and payment" report. This report shows you the sales and return/credit figures as well as the money/payment movement (both income and expense) for the reporting period. 2. Changes to "Income by job types" report. Some workshop has asked for the report to be able to report on multiple job types per job (previously every income grouped into the jobs first job type). and we delivered. the income per job type... is now grouped under the job type header on the invoice. This change will require you to drag and drop the invoice line under the correct header to make the report work property. any line that is not under any job type header or under an arbitrary header will be categorized as "Other" on this report. 3. Each job type can now also be assigned as a job category, so multiple service job types can be under the "Service" Job category. Under "Income by Job type", we also report on "Income per job category"

05.01.2022 Our latest version of the mobile app is having some issue on ios. Please do not update to the latest version 2.22 or if you do, please use the web interface for now. our engineering team is working on a solution and we will let you know when the problem is fixed.

05.01.2022 You can now assign a contact of a customer to receive invoice and statement (instead of sending them to the customers email address). This is useful when you have a company customer who wants to receive normal communications via their email but wants the workshop to send the invoice and statement to their finance department.
