25.01.2022 Decorating Christmas bags While inside the Kookaburras started to design their Christmas bags to be sent home at the end of the year. The kookaburras used their fine motor skills and hand eye coordination to pick a stamp, dip it into the paint and stamp it onto the bag. ... 24.01.2022 Group time in the Kookaburras room Today during group time Miss Caroline encouraged the children to sing along to Meeks rules and children’s acknowledgment of the country. This builds children’s confidence and also encourages them to join in for group time. ... Miss Caroline asked a few of the Kookaburras to pick a book of their choice which was numbers. 24.01.2022 For group time this morning, Miss Madi brought in an emu egg. The children passed the egg around and commented on how heavy the egg is. We looked at what an emu looks like on the iPad. 24.01.2022 Back In Time - Ball Games After the children had some time with the animals this morning, they enjoyed helping Miss Chloe prepare for a game! The children were being great helpers! They helped Miss Chloe hang some tins on the tree, all different heights! The children were then given a dice each to take turns to aim and throw into the tins. The children formed a big line and took turns in aiming the dice into the tins, they demonstrated great gross motor, aiming skills and team work and support! 3.2 Develop increasing responsiubility for their own health and physical well-being

After outside play the Kookaburras come inside for craft, Miss Courtney helped trace each of the kookaburras hand then asked them to identify which hand print was their own. 19.01.2022 Group time with Miss belle in the blue tongues! Today Miss Belle spoke about Christmas and elf on the shelf ! Miss Belle brought an advent calendar and Mr J got to pull out the first surprise on our calendar ! We then looked at the letter that was beside our elf on the shelf and after we looked at the letter we read the elf on the shelf story. To end grouptime we went over Meeks rules and the acknowledgment of country and some friends had some news to show their class.

18.01.2022 This morning in group time Miss Maddy went through our daily routine and talked about with the children about the moon and how the moon goes through phases of being full and being a half moon etc. the children were very engaged and to finish group time some friends showed us their news!

18.01.2022 School Readiness For school readiness today, the Blue Tongues enjoyed using paddle pop sticks and play dough to create 2D shapes. The children were creative with the shapes they made, some made squares, triangles, rectangles and others tried to make hearts and stars as well. 14.01.2022 Craft time this morning in the great outdoors with Miss Marie. The children made flower gardens out of popsicle sticks and cupcake liners. They used the glue sticks to secure their items to their pages. 1.1.1 Approved learning framework. 13.01.2022 Group time today... Mr T brought in an aeroplane to share with his friends and showed us the noises it makes. Miss Z brought in some Elsa figurines too. We spoke about our lavender paintings that we did the other day and Miss Wendy brought some real lavender in for us to look at and smell. Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners. 12.01.2022 The Children made sunflower paintings today for craft. They used cotton reels for the centre and small paint brushes for the petals. Using small paint brushes helps children develop pincer grasp which they will need in able to correctly hold a pencil. OUTCOME 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.

12.01.2022 This morning Miss Caroline followed the children’s interests and got out the hose for the Blue Tongues and Kookaburras to be able to water the plants. Miss Caroline engaged with the children about how plants grow and if we don’t water the plants on hots days then they will die. 05.01.2022 Welcome to the Kookaburras room! Today Miss Marie and the Kookaburras painted a canvas for our painted kookaburras to sit on. The children helped paint the canvas green using dabbing motions. 05.01.2022 Feather Writing For craft today, the Blue Tongues enjoyed doing something a little different as we learn about back in time! The children were provided with grey paint and some feathers to use instead of a paint brush. Using the feathers, the children dipped the end into the paint, they then were encouraged to write a letter to someone. 04.01.2022 Today Miss Maddy worked on shooting star creations with the children. This process involved the children using their fine motor skills to dip their paintbrush in the glue and apply it to the paper. They then sprinkled glitter over the glue to make their stars shine. Throughout this activity, the children verbally interacted with their peers and Educators alike. Philosophy: Every day we will provide experiences which will give each child the opportunity to explore music and movement, language, science, art, culture and mathematics.

KNOWN FACT: Children who spend time in nature are more active and less prone to stress and anxiety Most days after we feed the farm animals we walk down to the bush and dam to have a look for kangaroos, spot the fish swimming in the water, say hi to the horses chilling in the back paddock and pick the little flowers growing by the water. Today some of the children were throwing the little flowers as far as they could to see who could throw the furthest. The other children were watching and laughing. We found 1 big fish only and no roos today. So blessed to have a wonderful natural environment to explore at Preschool

01.01.2022 Water colour craft Yesterday with Miss Courtney some of the children helped make coloured ice which consisted of food colouring and water, we put them into the freezer to set. Today while outside we decided to check on the coloured ice cubes. The Kookaburras each picked the colour they wanted to paint with and placed it onto the paper, some of the children identified the ice cube was cold and only used 1 finger to move the ice cubes around. ... Some of the other Kookaburras loved the different sensory feeling and continued to pick different colours to make a rainbow on their paper. The Kookaburras enjoyed watching the ice cubes melt and asked why did it melt and why does it look like that.
