25.01.2022 Theres so much more to learn about pain! Here is one of my favourite stories about pain. Enjoy!
24.01.2022 https://theconversation.com/regular-exercise-has-long-term- People around the world are staying at home as part of social distancing measures to limit the transmission of the novel coronavirus. In some countries people are being encouraged to exercise once a day. However, theres long been a public misconception that some forms of exercise can suppress the immune system, reducing the bodys ability to deal with outside threats, like the novel coronavirus. But theres a subst...antial body of research that shows exercise actually benefits our immune system. In fact, acute and chronic exercise of almost any type has been found to improve the way people respond to vaccines. And epidemiological studies show that people who are active get significantly fewer upper respiratory tract infections per year than less-active people. Our research agrees that exercise doesnt suppress immunity instead, it may help the immune system function better. At a basic level, the immune system has three main lines of defence. Exercise helps maintain the normal function of each of these.
24.01.2022 I think this is how Nali will feel about having to play with only me, for weeks on end, pretty soon
24.01.2022 https://theconversation.com/how-to-stay-fit-and-active-at-h The extensive social distancing policies put in place to limit the spread of COVID-19 mean most people will have to spend much, if not all, their time at home. Self-isolation means far fewer opportunities to be physically active if you are used to walking or cycling for transportation and doing leisure time sports.... But equally worryingly, the home environment also offers abundant opportunity to be sedentary (sitting or reclining).

23.01.2022 Life is very stressful right now so just for laughs here is me in a dinosaur suit. I may attempt to do some sort of exercise in this for you all at some point. Well see if I manage to record something without me falling over. In the meantime a few notes on self care: Try and find something positive in each day... Be productive with any extra time you may feel like you have. If you dont feel like you have extra time. Find time for yourself even if its only 5minutes. If youre struggling please reach out to me, your family or a friend. You are not in this alone. Keep safe.
22.01.2022 Optimism allows us to see that though we may have good and bad days there is still a light at the end of the tunnel that we are working towards. Motivation can be hard to find. Its variable. It comes and goes. But inspiration comes from within. Watch this 2minute video for a little more incite.
21.01.2022 https://theconversation.com/is-your-mental-health-deteriora Before the pandemic, one in five Australians experienced mental ill-health every year. But the uncertainty and instability around coronavirus has the potential to exacerbate existing anxiety and depression and contribute to the onset of new mental health problems.... So what are some of the signs your mental health might be declining during the pandemic? And what can you do about it?

18.01.2022 https://www.nytimes.com//coronavirus-exercise-depression-a During these trying times, exercise could provide indispensable mental-health support for many of us, according to a timely new study. The study finds that among a generally healthy but sedentary group of adults in their 20s, 30s and 40s, working out lowers levels of depression, hostility and other negative feelings. The study also finds that the mood benefits of exercise can linger for weeks after people stop worki...ng out, offering another compelling reason for us to try to move, whenever and wherever we still can, during this coronavirus crisis. There is plenty of evidence, of course, that physical activity affects mental health. In earlier studies, regular exercise substantially reduces risks for clinical depression among people with a genetic predisposition to the condition and helps to treat serious depression if it develops. Likewise, regular exercise often alleviates the severity of anxiety disorders, other research show But those studies generally involved people with serious clinical conditions. In people without mood disorders, exercise research has been squishier.
