24.01.2022 On Wednesday 12th August, surrounded by love in the divine sanctuary of my home, Maggie Sarah Iris was born. Every surge, every breath and every moment of absolute surrender, infused by the light & wisdom of my little sister & my spirit guide, Sarah. Still ever-present, grief ushers in new life. New joy.... Maggie is as much yours as she is mine, Sis. A gateway to healing. The bridge between our two worlds. It’s a privilege to be able to give birth. To be taken, completely & utterly, by the intensity of sensation. Our sweet babe entered the world under the doting eyes of her two big sisters, her Daddy, Nanna, midwife, doula & our photographer. All cherished roles in life’s biggest event. I’m still in awe at the gift my girls now have as their blueprint of birth. They now have an embodied experience of the magic of childbirth, when the process is trusted & honoured. The same blueprint my Mama gave me. I now have 3 daughters. My wisest & most treasured teachers. If I manage to teach them anything, I hope it’s to guide them into their own unique power as the creatresses of their own lives. I hope it’s not to simply speak of ideals, but to SHOW THEM courage and unwavering devotion to humanness and what it looks like to choose love over fear. I will continue to mess up, to fumble and course correct as a mother. But, for these girls of mine, I’m committed to showing them (and me) what’s possible when we refuse any narrative that keeps us from our power. Here’s to laughing through tears, finding pleasure in discomfort, sourcing wisdom through pain, and opening to love after loss. Welcome, darling Maggie.
