21.01.2022 Hi everyone, you may have noticed some increased mosquito activity in the region thanks to the recent King Tides. We have a number of ongoing control programs,... but here are some top tips to help keep mozzies at bay: Inspect your house and yard and remove any accumulation of water Empty pot plant bases weekly or filling the base with sand to absorb water Wash out bromeliads and other water-holding plants weekly Clean out roof gutters regularly and trim back trees which can block gutters Ensure rainwater tanks are screened; Maintain swimming pools Wash out birdbaths and ornamental pools weekly Ensure ponds are stocked with suitable native fish You can also protect yourself by screening windows and doors, wearing long sleeved, loose-fitting clothing, using insect repellent and using a mosquito net if camping. 18.01.2022 CHICKENPOX & IBUPROFEN - please remind people NOT to give children nurofen/ibuprofen. This type of medication is an anti-inflammatory - it reacts with chicken p...ox making them go deeper into the skin tissue. Nurofen is ibuprofen based and the NHS website does state for children not to take ibuprofen based products for chickenpox. It should also state on all Nurofen bottles also. 17.01.2022 We headed out to see the animals from Cooberrie Park Wildlife Sanctuary, wail they visited Stockland Shopping Centre on the school holidays. We all had so much fun, we are actually thinking about heading out to the park itself.

17.01.2022 A BIG THANK YOU, to High Street Vet Surgery. For helping our FDC role playing as veterinarian this month. High street Vet Surgery let the look at some x-rays of animals and gave the children all their own gloves, hair hat, masks, to play the part. I was showing all the children the x-ray and they there super excited to see, what part of the animals they were looking at, they especially love the lizard. ... The children are so excited to hear that we are allowed to have a walk through of the surgery. More photos to come..

And after reading this post you will be stuffing one into your first aid kit! Turns out they are MAGIC for removing splinters, tiny shards of glass, bee sting venom in a quick, non invasive, painless way. Simply place the outter tube hole over the wound site (press firmly against skin) then pull the inside orange tube out really quick. The vacuum in the tube should extract the offending item.
