25.01.2022 Most people blame having kids or having a break from riding as the reason for their loss of confidence. Some have had that nasty accident. I've never had kids so I can't relate to that. But I do know that as I get older I am a bit more cautious and take more time to prepare if I have a particularly touchy horse.... To me, the problem beliefs people have with horses are: * That lack of understanding of why your confidence is really struggling. * A large (incorrect) acceptance that horses are 'dangerous' * If you want to ride, you have to ride the 'dangerous' horse. When your safety is left to luck, that can really destroy your confidence. What I help with is understanding why you have these beliefs, and bringing your communication skills up so that you can help your HORSE be more confident, less reactive and much safer to ride. Are you ready to be the rider of the calm horse now? Message me now to find out how.

25.01.2022 Have you ever thought what it would be like to ride your horse with no tack? How good would your communication need to be to be able to do this? How awesome would your relationship and your connection be to be able to do this!... Would you like to have this? I have lessons coming up in Ballarat and Horsham, message me now to find out I can help you achieve this too!

20.01.2022 We just had a fabulous weekend at Chambers Flat Equestrian Park taking a good look at all the Horsemanshio Skills that are required to perform various tasks in competition. We looked at how to break obstacles down to achievable tasks for the horse that will keep them calm and build their confidence with them with the see saw being a great test of leadership and trust! We also checked out some novelty games and discovered some secrets to keeping our horses calm whilst going fa...st and we finished the weekend exploring our very own QSports patterns! So proud of all those who took part in the event and had a go at everything with enthusiasm AND had some fantastic achievements with their horses. Well done Ladies!

20.01.2022 This is the first time Tracy asked her horse Big Fella to walk all the way over the seesaw obstacle at our clinic last weekend. By applying Release Focus Training principles, Tracy was able to build Big Fella's confidence with the seesaw. She allowed him to check it out, she showed him that it moves, she gave him the choice to step onto it and she kept him thinking as he walked over it. The result is a horse that kept his cool as the obstacle moved and a horse that continu...ed to carefully place his feet as he walked off it giving him a great first experience that he will be willing to try again as his trust in his handler grows. Well done Tracy!

11.01.2022 This is such a powerful post I just had to share (please make sure you read the original post) When rewarding our horses try, just stopping what you are doing doesn't really cut it. To truly appreciate their tries can make all the difference and that needs to come from the heart. https://www.facebook.com/reginaldo.r.cruz/posts/10156438099676292

09.01.2022 If you are in the Ballarat area and looking for some help with your horse I have just 2 spots left after 3.30pm on Sunday. Send me a message if you would like to know more.

09.01.2022 What do you do when you have a couple of young horses booked in to be started under saddle that need to do a 3 hour trip to get there but had never been on float before? For the full background story on this video see my blog at https://melpeacock.com.au/float-loading-the-young-horse/

09.01.2022 My ponies are happy with their new round bale today. I have been using these slow feed hay nets for a few years now and loved them so much I started making them myself. I have quite a few in stock ready to go in all sizes in 60ply 4cm squares. If you would like to order one just PM me for details.

05.01.2022 Thankyou Kylie Fielding for the opportunity to work with Billee. For a horse that literally had no forward, Billee came a long way in the time that I had him and is now trotting and cantering nicely and with great steering and brakes!

04.01.2022 First canter strides with Billee today!

01.01.2022 What do you look for when working with your horse? Do you just want the horse to do as he is told so that you can get on him a do what it is that you want to do with him? Or does it matter to you how your horse is feeling about what you are doing with him?... Do you want your horse to be enjoying his time with you just as much as you do with him? And be confident in all the things that you do together? These are the things that I strive to achieve with any horse that I work with. If you are not sure how to tell if your horse is happy and confident or would like to know how to develop true confidence in your horse, I can help. Just message me to find out how.
