25.01.2022 I decided to get in early and write my Retrospective of 2020 earlier than I usually would, so that we can look back before moving forward. Whatever you're doing this holiday, please be safe and be thankful :)

25.01.2022 Foggy cold mornings to remind us to slow down and appreciate each day we have... I love winter in South East Queensland. Still buzzing from my Q+A last week for the the #aipp, was so lovely to present my history to an audience online. If you missed it, keep an eye out for the blog post. Pic : nikon D850 and 70-200 2.8 #aipp_official #nikonaustralia #queensland #foggy #exploringaustralia #aussie_images #ozscapers

25.01.2022 An oldie but a goodie... In January each year, Queensland faces KING tides, the highest of the highest tides. Simple structures like these boatsheds on the maroochy River get consumed by the water as it rises and falls. An oldie taken on the Nikon D3000 and I can't remember what lens . #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #sunrise #hightide

24.01.2022 Ive been shooting locally lately, not being able to travel beyond QLD has meant going back to places nearby that I shot when I was a beginner... And Im so in love with the pastels that I see each time. South East Queensland is my backyard. Nikon D850 and 70-200 2.8 #discoverqueenslandchallenge #discoverqueensland #discoveraustralia #mynikonlife #nikonaustralia #ig_australia #aipp_official @aipp_official @tonyauden

24.01.2022 My heart is breaking for the regions of #australia today under the threat of destruction from bushfires. This image is from the snowy river that snakes around the foothills of #kosciuszko national Park, cloaked in snowy garb! Thinking of everyone and our natural wonders #snowymountainsau #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #nikontop #igworldclub #winterinaustralia #snow #stream

24.01.2022 A very old shot now, about 10 years ago, and still one of my favourite of Lake Moogerah. It's such a beautiful place and she has so many things to see #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #sunrise #winterinaustralia

24.01.2022 Sad that I didnt get out to shoot the fog in Brisbane today. It was a Mist opportunity.

23.01.2022 A reminder: My (and free) Live zoom Q+A is coming up this Wednesday night at 7pm! Theres still places available :) Book via the link, you dont need to be a member :)

22.01.2022 To all my followers old and new, Im giving an online talk about my work! Mark the 10th of June in your calendar and register at the link below. The cost is FREE for everyone and participants are limited to 100. I hope to see some familiar faces in the audience!

22.01.2022 I'm back online! https://www.melsinclair.com.au/ Calling a giant thankyou to Zenfolio for helping me out with the changes needed!

22.01.2022 Over the past few weeks before /after Christmas, I've been exploring my local area, trying to discover new things. I definitely found it, and have really loved processing into black and white! #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #monochromeaustralia #themonochromecollective #blackandwhite #queensland

21.01.2022 In the face of not being able to really go anywhere, I've been revisiting some favourite places that I used to shoot when I was just beginning this photography journey. It's been great to see these places again, and reshoot them with trained eyes. Nikon D850 and 70-200 2.8 #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #ipswich #foggymorning #aipp_official #whereelsebutqueensland #tourismqueensland

21.01.2022 I've written a blog about three images from my friends and peers, that are so clever with how they have taken a concept/idea and translated that into an image that resonated with the judges at several awards. If you're a student or someone seeking a bit of that inspiration, read on! (Edit: There's a picture in this post that represents death, if you don't like it, don't click)

21.01.2022 Social media... Unlike most on insta, I don't believe in posting everyday. What I do believe in, is finding little moments away from the usual places..

21.01.2022 Ilford make the best range of inkjet papers for Fine Art Photography. Get onto this awesome giveaway!

21.01.2022 I'm a bit of a romanticist when it comes to the Landscape, I love the idea of being able to imagine myself in the scene. An empty seat is an invitation to stop and enjoy the scenery, take it in and breathe deeply. Taken in Banff in 2019 with my Nikon D850 and 20mm 1.8 #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_canada #banff #earth_shotz

20.01.2022 Everyone is making art about Quarantine. Here's my take.

19.01.2022 Theres something about this picture of birch trees and the dying autumn colour behind it. Taken on a whim, June Lake during my visit to the USA in November 2019. What do you think?

19.01.2022 In parts of India, Archery is a sport. It's simple enough to understand, but take a look at the pics I took, back in 2016, when I visited India. https://www.melsinclair.com.au/blog/2016/7/archery

19.01.2022 My first review for Shotkit has gone live today! The Nikon 20mm 1.8mm lens has been out for a while, and its a fantastic lens to grab if you're into using a wide angle lens for multiple shooting situations. Check it out!

18.01.2022 The AIPP Silver Lining Awards are open and accepting entries now! The best bit: You don't have to be a member to enter. Every image submitted is judged by AIPP trained judges and is given a score and a feedback comment. Check it out! https://aippawards.com.au/

18.01.2022 Lines of communication... Over the past few days I've been exploring around my little area, snapping shots of the quaint and the quirky under the moody skies. #themonochromecollective #blackandwhite #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #queensland

18.01.2022 These magnificent trees, while they mostly still stand, their forest had a fire rip through and burn away all the gorgeous greens. A beautiful place interrupted. #sugarpineswalk #tumut #snowymountainsau #nswbushfires #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #climatechangeisreal

18.01.2022 Layers ~~~ dusty desert plains play with slivers of light. Death Valley, CA. Nikon D850 and 70-200 2.8 with @eunasahng @rowenaenglishphoto @timothypoulton @0800capo . #nikonaustralia #deathvalley #travelgram #roadtripusa

16.01.2022 The most amazing man-curated natural wonders of the world. Check out the Living Root Bridges of Meghalaya, India. Blogs updated from 2016 with more pictures than before! https://www.melsinclair.com.au//double-decker-living-root-

16.01.2022 Something beautiful from my trip to Canada last year! It was magical looking over the fields of snowy trees. Nikon D850 and 70-200 2.8 #canada #nikon #icefieldsparkway #snow #cold #earth_shotz #ig_canada #earth #fortheloveoftrees #nikonaustralia #frozenforest

16.01.2022 Everyone is making art about Quarantine. Heres my take.

15.01.2022 Better late than never? I've been updating my India blogs from 2016. I realised I'd said "I'll add more pictures later" and kind of forgot about that. So here they are. Read about what it was like first getting into India - Mumbai and Guwahati. https://www.melsinclair.com.au/blog/2016/7/guwahati-day-2

14.01.2022 Another boldly lit view from Yosemite Valley, November 2019. I enjoy this picture for what it reminds me of being there, rather than whatever photography purists would say about the lens flares and the strong light. Nikon D850 and 20mm 1.8 #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_usa #incrediblenature #yosemitevalley #aipp_official @aipp_official #landscapephotography

13.01.2022 If you saw the post on Monday, you'll know that I'm gradually getting around to updating my India blogs with extra pictures that I promised you 4 years ago. Slack. But since we can't travel, let's all relive the experience again?

12.01.2022 Worlds away... Ages ago now. Going back through old images and living the memories again #iceland #jokulsarlonglacierlagoon #exploretheworld #memories #stuckathome

12.01.2022 www.melsinclair.com.au Did you know: When you view my website, there's a floating watermark. This is only to deter those that want to download or screenshot my images, instead of actually buying a print. When you order prints and canvases, the watermark is automatically removed. Simples!

12.01.2022 My #2019bestnine images posted this year. Ive been trying to post more to IG and to be honest, I find it a bit exhausting at times. Its hard to get work seen, its hard to get the right tags, but its all good. A mix of images from #Australia and #newzealand some new, some old... All taken on a Nikon! #2019bestnineinstagram #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #kingaroy #sugarpineswalk #kosciuszko #thatwanakatree #glenorchy #epic_captures #bestnine #australiaandnewzealand

11.01.2022 I was elated to find out my results of the Epson Pano Awards 2020. While none of my images received a Top 50 placing, getting Bronzes and a Silver making it 4/4 was still very pleasing. These images themselves are slowly making it live onto my website in the coming weeks. Congrats to all the winners of the Epson Pano awards, and do check out the Top 50, there's some incredible work https://thepanoawards.com/2020-winners-gallery/

11.01.2022 And with every bend explored is a new experience. Getting to know the tracks around Yosemite Valley, getting glimpses of the road through the trees, bathed in autumn colour. #yosemitevalley #california #yosemite #ig_usa #nationalparks #usa #roadtripusa #mynikonlife #epic_captures #forestroad

11.01.2022 Sorry I haven't had a chance to post a blog yet guys n gals... I'm struggling to adjust to the timezone, but I'm almost there. Hoping to have some time soon to do a Week 1 wrap :) In the meantime, check out my Instagram stories for shots of stuff that happens along the way... @melsinclair_au

11.01.2022 Have you ever been to Shillong, India?! If you haven't, let's go on trip, right now. Just click. My old blogs from 2016 have had a giant picture injection! https://www.melsinclair.com.au/bl/2016/7/nooks-and-crannies

08.01.2022 The last time I travelled... November 2019. I got a chance to visit the USA and experience Yosemite National Park for myself. Its got an undeniable charm, the way the light falls and being in the company of such history... #yosemitevalley #valleyview #nikonaustralia

08.01.2022 A fleeting moment of light, on an otherwise misty, subdued day. Nikon D850 and 70-200 2.8. Shot from 2019 #nikonaustralia #landscapephotography #fog #queensland

08.01.2022 Looking back at my last holiday back in November 2019... Yosemite National Park was just so enchanting, and had a little sprinkle of magic with it. I love shooting the lesser seen scenes at popular locations #yosemite #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #yosemitevalley #aipp_official @aipp_official #instamood

07.01.2022 Due to unavoidable faults, my website is currently down. I'm hoping it'll be back in 24hrs. No this is not an april fool.

07.01.2022 I decided to try out some of these infinity-scapes that I've been seeing in the hubs. The storm last week provided me with some funky clouds to try it with. How did I go? Images shot with the Nikon D850 and 20mm 1.8 #seeaustralia #d850 #epic_captures #nikonaustralia #ig_australia #infinity #d850 #dreamscape #stormyskies

07.01.2022 On these warm days at home in Australia, I dream of the days I was colder than Id ever been, but happy at last to be exploring a snow covered countryside in Canada with my D850 and 20mm 1.8 #ig_canada #canada #mountainsarecalling #travelgram #nikonaustralia

05.01.2022 Known as the Boonah tree, it's a roadside location with views across the plains. Catching the first light of day, it's a shining beacon of the hills. #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #sunrise #tourismqueensland

05.01.2022 This is a grab from my feed from mid-last year showcasing the scenes to be found around the Snowy Mountains of New South Wales. While the snow is seasonal and will return, some landscapes will be forever changed after these fires. I'm vowing to return as soon as I can to #spendwiththem not just immediately but in the year to come also. All images in the grid were taken in 2019 on my Nikon D850 #nikonaustralia #mynikonlife #ig_australia #australiagram #fortheloveofjindabyne #snowymountainsaustralia #aussie_images #australialandscape #earth_shotz #newsouthwales #australianphotographer

05.01.2022 I wanted to make an image about our current quarantine/isolation situation that did not use any words or popular symbols. I wanted to show #covid19 as the invisible threat that it is, and our modern response to being cooped up inside, riding out the invisible storm. 02.01.2022 On the first morning in Canada, I learned that my fingers really hate the cold, but despite this, I pushed through. No pity needed, the beautiful scenery made up for it. Pic from November 2019, taken on the Nikon D850 and 20mm 1.8

01.01.2022 A view of a partly frozen river, overlooking Castle Mountain, Canada. November 2019 seems a world ago, but I'm so grateful that I got to see a little bit of Canada before the world turned upside down. Taken on my Nikon D850 and 20mm f1.8 lens
