23.01.2022 Mario and Stefani had a very special visitor this afternoon. Their grand daughter Anna came in to visit. 2020 has certainly been challenging but the arrival of this little treasure makes all the troubles of the world disappear.

13.01.2022 During isolation, our optometrist Mario, decided to revisit his unfinished novel and is thrilled to announce that his latest labor of love is now finished. ‘Through New Eyes’ is a suspense thriller about a young man who undergoes eye surgery. It is sure to have you spellbound right to the very last page. The book is available to purchase at our practice for $20. Mario will even sign your copy if you wish. 10.01.2022 WORLD GLAUCOMA WEEK MARCH 8 -13 Glaucoma is a progressive disease which is often referred to as the silent thief of sight. In its early to moderate stages the symptoms usually go unnoticed and it progresses slowly and destroys vision gradually. If left untreated glaucoma can lead to blindness. Once damage has occurred it cannot be reversed. It is possible however, to prevent further damage.... 08.01.2022 COVID-19 STAGE 4 LOCKDOWN UPDATE Melton Optical Services WILL REMAIN OPEN in order to provide urgent and essential eye care to those who require it. What is urgent eye care? painful and or red eyes foreign body in eyes... seeing flashes or floaters sudden deterioration in vision severe headaches Also, if you require urgent replacement of spectacles due to breakage or loss, or need to order contact lenses please contact us to organise this for you. Please note, we are not seeing routine eye care at this stage and patients that have appointments for the next couple of weeks will be contacted by our friendly staff to determine their care needs and to reschedule appointments if their needs can be postponed at this time. You will not require a medical referral for urgent care treatment, and you are able to travel more than 5km for a clinical appointment. We recommend you have your appointment confirmation available as a point of reference if you are asked. The health and safety of our patients, staff and of the greater community has always been of the upmost importance for us so please follow the guidelines below when attending an essential or urgent appointment: Please come alone - drivers or support persons need to wait outside. Please ensure you are wearing a mask or face covering. Your temperature will be taken on arrival. Please use the hand sanitiser upon entering the practice. Maintain social distancing at all times. Do not touch the spectacle frames. A staff member will assist you with frame selection. If you are experiencing any cold/flu-type symptoms, please do not attend the practice. 05.01.2022 After almost 20 years of service our beloved Lynette has decided to hang up her headset and retire. Her last day will be Monday March 29. Her friendly smile has always made everyone feel so welcome and staff and patients alike will all miss her. Of course we’ll help her celebrate her upcoming retirement in style but we thought our lovely patients may want to drop in and say goodbye too. We all know she’s always up for a chat so pop in if you’d like to wish her well.
