25.01.2022 Unfortunately the gala ceremony at the MCG members to present the SSV Blues awards had to be cancelled. All we could do was get the two girls out of class for a period to watch the official announcement. Such a shame as it is always a very special day for the winners with so many Olympians and notable others present. Don't think that me in the MSC temporary members classroom was much of a consolation!!!!!

09.01.2022 SSV Sport update as of Tues 14th July. NOT good news as expected. Below is a copy of some of the SSV info on the webpage. Interschool sport current status Resumption of any interschool sport is dependent on advice from the Department of Health and Human Services that it is considered safe to do so. Currently, no interschool sport is permitted.... Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire School Sport Victoria advises that for schools in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, no interschool sporting events and competitions will run in Term 3. This aligns with the Victorian Government's introduction of Stage 3 measures across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire to reduce the spread of coronavirus. Regional Victoria (excluding Mitchell Shire) School Sport Victoria is planning for the possible resumption of interschool sport in regional Victoria (excluding Mitchell Shire), in line with the latest available advice, sometime in Term 3. School Sport Victoria understands and respects that schools will make their own decisions regarding their participation in interschool sport should it resume in Term 3. Cancelled interschool sport competitions and events School sport will be delivered differently to previous years. This means that: Some sports may not be delivered this year. Students and/or school teams won't progress to State Championships in some sports. Sports may be modified to suit the latest health advice, such as physical distancing. Summary of cancelled interschool sporting events and competitions include: All interschool sport for schools in metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire in Term 3. Senior team sports (Year 11/12), including Premier League competitions. Swimming State Championships - the remaining Division and Region Championships may be delivered in Term 4, where possible. Region and State Championships for cross country, Australian Football, badminton (secondary only), bowls (secondary only), cross country, hockey, netball, soccer and tee ball (primary only). Secondary Track and Field State Championships - Division and Region Championships may be delivered in Term 4, where possible. Primary Golf State Championships - local competitions may be delivered, where possible. Local District or Division events which cannot be rescheduled to later in the year. This may be due to the seasonality of the sport, access to venues or availability of schools to participate. Your school will be aware of the details for these events so we encourage you to contact your School Sport Coordinator.

04.01.2022 As we celebrate 20 yrs since Sydney Olympics, old photos surface. One of our Melton SC students was involved in the torch relay so we did a fundraiser for the son one of our Melton PE staff members who competed at the Olympics by getting photos with the torch. Her son, Warren Hansen, finished 6th from memory while his partner Lauren Burns won gold in Ti Kwon Do. They came out to an assembly and did a presentation for our kids as a thank you for the fundraiser. Who would have thought that my son on my right would be living his own Olympic dream (nearly) 20 yrs later.

02.01.2022 Exciting times ahead https://vic.rugby/news/2021/05/25/rebels-shield-launch

02.01.2022 Feel free to join in this challenge set up by one of our school sports equipment providers.
