David (or Tweeto for those is the know) has been coaching water polo as a volunteer for over 40 years. He is the only person to have coached both the Aussie Stingers AND Aussie Sharks, along with both the Fremantle Mariners AND Marlins, WAIS, WA State teams and numerous MWPC teams over the years. The Club seeks to provide the safest possible environment for all visitors. In light of the Governments announcement to suspend non-essential gatherings of more than 500 people, the Club has decided there will be no BBQ, and no Bar service at tonights or tomorrow mornings fixtures.... The Club requests the following: 1. Where possible, we ask that only one guardian escorts the child to the match. We understand this may not be possible in all instances but appreciate your support where possible. 2. In line with Water Polo Australias communications, we would ask team managers to communicate the following: - No handshakes after the game try a wave - No sharing drink bottles - Look after your equipment mouthguards particularly, and wash after use 3. Please leave the facility as soon as practical after the games to reduce crowding. 06.01.2022 # # IMPORTANT NOTICE # # Cessation of Competitions - 17th March 2020 The health and safety of players, staff, volunteers, members, supporters and the broader community is the Clubs number one priority, and changes made by the Club to any programs are designed to reduce the risk of our club community being exposed to COVID-19.... Program Update Friday FlippaBall, Saturday Juniors, PoloSwim, Sunday U14B Conference Finals Matches Cancelled. Teams who completed the regular season leading their respective competition table will be declared Premiers as currently published; PoloSwim will be cancelledfrom Wednesday 18th March 2020, we apologise for the inconvenience. WPWAI Grade Competitions The Club will follow the decision of the Board of the Water Polo Association of Western Australia, the remaining season will be cancelled. Team training sessions will cease as of Tuesday 17th March 2020. Swim Squads Given the cancellationof the water polo season for 2019-20 outlined above, the Club will cease swim squads from Wednesday 18th March 2020. Public Swimming Given the cancellation of the water polo season for 2019-20, the Club will close the facility as of close of business Wednesday 18th March 2020. We acknowledge that some of these measures may cause disappointment and frustration for our members and supporters, though we hope that you understand and appreciate that these temporary measures have been introduced to benefit the health and safety of all. The Club will review the operations in the coming weeks, and advise when programs will reopen in due course. 01.01.2022 GRATITUDE I We had a big 4 days of Water Polo with @fremantlewaterpolo hosting @acu_cronullasharkswp and @syduniwaterpolo for Round 4 of the #ovoawl2020, 2 nights of Flippaball and the Challenge Cup being held over the weekend at Bicton. It takes an enormous amount of Club resources to deliver all these events and the MWPC extends thanks to everyone who donated their time over the weekend to support our teams. We had amazing support with table officials, ball boys, ball girls, bbq fundraising, team food prep and serving, players, coaches, team officials - and most importantly the multitude of parent and junior volunteers who leaned in to help us deliver a great showcase of our sport.
