01.01.2022 Did you know approximately 12,000 people live in remote Aboriginal communities in Western Australia? Many remote Aboriginal communities remain closed to extern...al travellers. Only residents, family members, essential workers and some service providers are allowed to enter these communities. Restrictions remain in place to protect the health and well-being of residents. People who live in these remote communities are at higher risk of serious illness from COVID-19 than other Western Australians. Some remote Aboriginal communities are excluded from the restrictions, or have their own entry rules in place, so always check which restrictions apply prior to travelling. Fines of up to $50,000 may apply to anyone who breaches the restrictions. Please travel responsibly and help keep remote Aboriginal communities safe. More information is at: https://www.wa.gov.au//restrictions-travel-remote-aborigin

01.01.2022 IMPORTANT: COVID UPDATE FOR THE GOLDFIELDS We’re aware of some confusion around the need to isolate if you returned from Perth recently. Here are the facts:... People should not leave Perth, Peel or the South West during the lockdown period (until 6pm, Friday 5 February). Non-residents currently in Perth, Peel and the South West are required to remain until the end of the restriction period however if you must leave for serious reasons you are to then return home immediately, stay home and get tested if symptoms develop. If you returned from Perth before the lockdown period commenced (6pm, Sunday 31 January), please check the list of locations visited by confirmed cases here - bit.ly/3oBTKh2. Anyone who was at these places on the specific dates and times must go and get tested at their nearest testing location [bit.ly/2V46Vv2]and remain isolated until the result is known. Hand hygiene, cough etiquette, physical distancing and getting tested if symptomatic remain very important.

01.01.2022 Menzies and Laverton were on the agenda today starting at the Pioneer Store Gallery. Featuring some amazing local art and photography make sure you drop in when youre travelling through the Goldfields as they have some really cool artwork for sale.
