20.01.2022 Some snippets from my ITI presentation in Adelaide on single implant-supported provisional restorations. Enjoy! Implant provisionals are recommended where the end result cannot be visualised. Early and delayed loading protocols are indicated for predictable soft tissue results Screw-retained implant provisionals are preferred for retrievability

17.01.2022 Sharing a case of a single implant supported short span bridge - This lovely young lady presented to us in 2015 complaining of missing upper front teeth following an accident. She requested natural looking implant supported 'teeth'. She wore a denture which was unsatisfactory in appearance A scan and a ‘mock-up’ was carried out to determine the appropriate position of the final crowns and implants. Guided implant surgery was done. Following osseo-integration, a temporary imp...lant-supported bridge was placed. The gingival tissues were remodelled over a minimum of 3 visits. Following satisfactory remodelling of the gum tissue, the site was subsequently restored with a single implant-supported 2-unit bridge. Our client opted for 2 veneers on the contralateral teeth, which were chipped and stained. She was rather thrilled and elated with the result of her treatment. We continue to support her with regular reviews. See more

17.01.2022 This patient presented to us with spaces, short and discoloured teeth. She had Orthodontic work done in the past. However, the spaces relapsed. She was conscious of smiling and had a history of Orofacial pain and composite restorations, which she was not happy with. She was concerned about her left upper central incisor that had moved as a result of an accidental extraction in the past. Multiple consultations were carried out to understand her concerns and her medical history was evaluated. She was shown a mock-up of her final crowns. Following her approval, the upper arch was restored with multiple all-ceramic crowns. The patient was very happy with the outcome of her treatment. She is confident and smiles more often. People tell her that ‘she looks great’. She is now motivated to have her lower teeth treated in future.

16.01.2022 Case of a primary retained canine (upper right) replaced with an implant crown and incisors restored with veneers to complete this patients smile. Needless to say she was thrilled

06.01.2022 Case of Emax crowns fabricated for a gentleman with multiple aesthetic issues in relation to his previous maxillary ceramo-metal crowns and anterior dentition. His previous crowns were short, dark and stubby and did not match his facial profile- the patient was tall and dolichocephalic. He had a history of congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors - teeth 12 & 22 had been orthodontically repositioned into the lateral incisor sites and teeth 13 & 23 had been restored wi...th ceramo-metal crowns. He was never satisfied with the appearance of these crowns and wanted longer, lighter-coloured and appropriately shaped, natural-looking restorations. His midline appeared to be canted to the left. His crown margins were dark and the underlying metal was exposed. In addition, he had a draining sinus on tooth 22 and periodontal concerns in general. We approached this case at a slow and steady pace and removed his old crowns on teeth 13, 11, 21 & 23. His teeth were temporised with acrylic crowns and periodontal treatment was carried out. Following resolution of the sinus tract and periodontal stabilisation, Emax crowns were inserted on teeth 13(now at site 12), 11, 21 and 23(now at site 22). Teeth 14 (now at site 13)and 24 (now at site 23)were restored with composite veneers to complete his new smile. This was a financially-driven decision. His midline cant was corrected to a certain degree within acceptable physiological parameters. Our patient was thrilled with his new crowns and has become acutely aware of his gingival status and oral hygiene. We hope to review this case closely and at regular intervals. Hope you liked this outcome. Let me know your thoughts!

05.01.2022 Case of all- ceramic veneers for a gentleman with stains, spacing (following orthodontic relapse) and worn teeth. With some clever ceramic layering and bulk, we managed to increase tooth show and get him smiling with confidence again. Tooth preparations were carried out following the principles of biomimetic dentistry. Our patient was thrilled and we are elated to have accomplished this wonderful work for him. Three years have passed and he has been smiling since!
