19.01.2022 Food scraps - what do you do with them? When you cook a lot from scratch, you can end up accumulating a lot of vegetable scraps - bits of celery, onion ends, tomato cores, carrot tops, bell pepper bits, etc. These are perfect to use to make veggie broth! Just store them in the freezer until you have enough. Add them to a large pot with water and simmer for about half an hour, followed by straining the scraps. You are left with homemade broth that’s tastier than anything store bought. Have you tried this?

08.01.2022 Did you know green onions are one of the easiest foods to grow? Take the bulb with the root attached and place it in a glass so the top is just above water. Make sure the roots are pointing down. After a few days, shoots will emerge from the top of the bulb and it will grow quickly. Be sure to change out the water once a week and you’ll enjoy an endless fresh supply of green onions! Set on a windowsill to keep the roots moist and for best results. 05.01.2022 Did you know you can make your own all-purpose cleaner with vinegar and lemon? Here’s how! 1. Peel 5-8 lemons and transfer peels into a glass jar. 2. Pour white vinegar into the jar and set aside for 2-3 weeks. 3. Strain the lemon peels, keep the liquid. 4. Add water to the mixture so it’s 50-50 lemon/vinegar to water.... 5.
